This is For Them
This is for the Parents
who didn't see the signs
who didn't dig deeper,
when they smiled and said their fine.
And this is for the Teacher
who didn't seemed to care
if the quiet kid in back of class
wasn't always there.
This is for the friends
who didn't hear the sighs
didn't take the time to notice
sadden blood shot eyes.
And is for the students
who whispered behind their backs
and broke the final barriers
with their high school bully acts.
This is for the siblings
both younger and the old
who wonder in their darkened rooms
if this is what their future holds.
And this is for others
following next in line
who hide their scars and sarrow
and sime and say their fine.
THis is for them,
who thought wrong
when they thought things would be better
if they were simply gone.
For those left in sarrow
the loved ones who pay the price
who never make it through a day
without tears upon their face.
For all the children
who died way to soon
unaware victims
in a frighten teenage womb.
But most of all
this is for those who don't know what its like
to live with the loss of a loved one
for the rest of their life.
Who only see it on TV
or printed black and white
who judge the lost souls
who believed it was right-
to leave the world in sarrow
a void to all whom remain
people who didn't see the signs
but live with all the pain.
