  The beginning of this 'fic shows 1. Kaylee sad and 2. Simon having trouble moving. In order for this to work, I need to forget the very end of Serenity in which Kaylee was visibly NOT sad, largely in part to Simon being quite able to move.
  
  Other than that, though, it's pretty IC.
  
  
  
  Author\'s Response: Thank you for your review! This happens right before the funerals, towards the end of the movie, not at the very end of the movie when, as we both know, Simon could move quite well and Kaylee was very happy. If I were to continue this, they would attend the funeral and then, after a few days for proper healing, the engine room scene at the very end of the movie would take place. ;) Thanks again.   Hey I have to say that this fic was great and dead on. Aparently some folks do not understand "The end" and "Near the end" as you stated.
  
  Either way great story to cover the holes left behind. Please continue.
