Chapter Three: Breaking Backs With Heavy Hearts
Pete left the building and stood outside, looking up
at the moon. He hated living in constant darkness. He
would never be able to see the sun again, never be
able to feel its warm rays on his skin. He wiped his
eyes and shook his head. He'd never be able to be with
Patrick. He'd never be able to kiss his soft lips or
make love to him. The risk was too great. Sure, the
mixture Patrick had created did help suppress the
bloodlust. But what if the contact was too much for
Pete to handle? What if he lost control? Patrick
deserved better...he deserved to live a normal life.
Pete sighed and closed his eyes, leaning against the
wall. "Maybe I should just stay here and watch the sun
come up," he mumbled to himself. "Would it even
matter? I'm nothing..."

William watched as Brendon turned Ryan and shook his
head. "Are you sure that's a good idea? We don't need
another Wentz, you know." Brendon glared at William.
"I can control this one...I want this one." Lust burned
in his eyes as he looked back at Ryan, watching him
awaken as one of them. Brendon flashed his devilish
grin and ran his fingers through Ryan's hair. "Good
morning, beautiful..." he whispered. Ryan looked around,
frightened at first but then smiled evilly. He was
going to enjoy this.
