It's all in the past

She loved, she lost, she cried, she shut down. She was lost, with the love of her life gone forever, her heart shattered in a million pieces. She left her friends, transferring to another school, in hopes of getting another chance to live again, without him... She doesn't want people to know about her past, but when they do, what will she do? Will she run again, or will she accept that she can't run anymore?

Just as a warning: no problems if you wanna flame - I had to learn it with one of my other fics... -, just don't be cruel. Honesty is okay by me, but not cruelty.

PS: Sorry, in advance, about grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language, and I sorta have a mental block when I write in the said language... Especially because, no matter what language I'm writing in, I tend to write too... Right. Annoying? Not to me, anyway...

PS2: Just to give a heads up: no point in commenting on the names - characters, places, acts, the story itself -, 'cause I know I suck at naming, so...

PS3: If I mess up any of the names - if I ever happen to mention any kind of pop/rock music singer/whatever or anything that is WAY out of my area of expertise (example: high schools and boarding schools - and american school in general - I just don't really get... Plus cars and motorcycles) -, do forgive me and please, review and help me improve and take the mistake out of the story. Just to make things easier, I might just make up stuff, such as cities (not small, by the way), fashion stuff and such.

PS4: Light (at least I think it is so) swearing, okay? But only probably.

PS5: Maybe violence...

PS6: There MIGHT be hentai...

Act 0001: Now

She was silent, quiet, polite. She transferred to Brensor Private High School, in the beautiful city of Saint Paul, aka SP, at the start of the school year the year before, now being the first semester of the new school year, still... Beautiful October.

Name...

Dawn McGowan...

Her hair was long, wavy, curly on the ends, dark brown in colour, usually, as in away, tied. Her eyes... They were... Special. They actually changed depending on her mood. From the darkest shade of blue, to its lightest, it turned green, sometimes, even violet, and, very rarely, into honey, black or even grey. They were strange, in a way, but gorgeous, anyhow. But once she usually kept her eyes down, in a sad way, like her expression, no one seemed to notice them...

Miss McGowan...

"Miss McGowan?" - the teacher asked the girl. She smiled politely.

"5 plus y equals x, ma'am, therefore..." - Dawn went on and on, explaining the exercise the teacher pointed to her favorite student.

Other students were bored. Bored. BORED! God! Couldn't this girl stop talking?!

Dawn had become the teacher's pet in no time. There was always someone kissing the teacher's ass, and Dawn was the perfect type of person to do so. But it wasn't as if it really was her intention. It wasn't...

Dawn read, for like the fifth time, Kafka's 'Metamorphoses'.

- she thought, because she'd noticed Kyle's glances at her.

For the entire WEEK, Kyle tried to talk Dawn into writing for BB, but she always said 'no', simply. Miss Clair had sorta given up on her, since she'd been so bold and rude - in her opinion - during that one class. So, Kyle was all alone on his mission.

"Please, Dawn...!" - Kyle begged, for maybe the tenth time that day, and the day hadn't even started!

"I told you I..."

"No! Come on, come on...!"

"I'm... No, I..."

"Please, God, I'm begging already, Dawn!"

"Don't"

"Please!"

"Kyle..."

"You're gonna say 'yes'?"

"No"

"Then I won't stop bugging you. Please...!"

"Stop it!" - she snapped, her eyes turning from light blue to dark green in a heart beat. She wasn't glaring at him, and didn't even seem annoyed - weird! -, but she was mad, for sure.

"No! I'm gonna make you write for BB, no matter what!"

"I won't"

"Yeah, you will"

"No"

"Ah... It's Friday, right?"

"Yes"

"Tomorrow, there's this party, a pool party, an old friend of mine that's moving back here's throwing it... Come tomorrow to it and I'll convince you, no matter what"

"No"

"Dawn, I really don't enjoy begging"

"Don't, then"

"But...! God, Dawn McGowan, you are SO going tomorrow! Not even if I have to go pick you up!"

"Don't!" - she hissed, narrowing her eyes, now pure violet. He blushed hard, finding them beautiful, but put on a smirk.

"Oh... Then I will... If you refuse or don't come at all after saying you'd go"

"Kyle..."

"Come"

"I..."

"What? Can't swim, don't like to wear a bathing suit..." - he blushed harder, thinking of Dawn wearing a nice - and small - two piece bathing suit... Red... (pervert...) - "Or... Eh... Don't have a bathing suit...?" -

"I don't wanna go"

"You're so going. And I'll even provide transporta..."

"I'll go" - she said, seeming slightly terrified about something. Kyle smiled boyishly.

"Really?" - he grinned like a fool.

"Yes"

"Great! I'll give ya the address later... And the time"

"Okay" - she said softly and turned around to leave. Kyle, as usual, was annoyed by her lack of farewell words, but, again, he said nothing, because he liked watching her without having the risk of having the girl catching him. Or so he thought, because she'd sometimes look back at him, making him think she was psychic. Maybe she was... He couldn't tell, once he never managed to get the girl to say more than five words during their 'conversations'. Again: FIVE words had never come out of her lips during their 'talks'. FIVE!

- Kyle thought, angry at himself -

It was lunch time.

Kyle was sitting alongside his friends, but he was quiet, looking through a book, an year book.

"Oh, Dawn" - he said, suddenly, when he saw the girl ready to leave the cafeteria, after, as usual, getting a bottle of juice. She raised her head slightly and walked to him, silently - "Here's the address" - he gave her a piece of paper - "Starts at 'round ten. Gonna have lunch there, and very likely dinner too"

"Fine" - the girl said, seeming annoyed. The boy grinned 'innocently' at her.

"What?"

"Nothing"
