Another one’s down.
I hold back my tears.
This Canadian man,
My friend.
I get off my knees.
There’s revenge in my heart.
I pick up my gun
For my friend.
I look over the trench,
The enemy’s in my range.
I pull the trigger
For my friend.
One man is down,
But many are left.
I duck down my head
For my friend.
I look up again,
A bullet’s my way.
I take it square
For my friend.
I see the light
Calling me home.
I see him now,
My friend.
