What happens when God dies?
Does the curse end? The world? Will their hearts stop beating? Or race onward toward the future?
They all stand at Akito’s grave.
Haru, Yuki, Kyo, Hiro, Kagura – they all wonder what happens now? Will there be another? Will he be better, worse, the same? Is the curse broken, or will they continue to live in the cages God made for them?
Kureno, Ayame, Shigure, Hatori – they won’t say. They only stare down, grim lines creasing ther faces.
Kisa, Momiji, Ritsu – all such innocents that they cry for him - that cruel, cruel being. They are the only ones that cry, and Ritsu begs for forgiveness.
Rin is not there. Perhaps she’s angry he died before she could break the curse, perhaps she’s angry she will never see the look on his face when he realizes he doesn’t own them anymore.
Tohru cries, but not just for him. She cries for the others, the ones that can’t. She hopes for better days, she believes in better days, because they can’t.
