  Interesting. Plenty of people with mental illness try to self-medicate with booze, so I like that take on Mama Chase's alcoholism.
  
  I wish there were a little more context, a small bit from the present to send Chase back to thinking about his mom. Wouldn't have to be much, just a little something to show the push.

  (Mama Chase? Heh, I like that. xD) It was only just meant to be a little drabble, but I know what you mean about some "push" from the present. Perhaps one day I'll go back and add something in. Thanks for reading!
