Kouga lay frozen in fear as the creature crept closer. Claws pressed against Kouga's face as breath smelling of decay overwhelmed the wolf demon's senses. Kouga's heart pounded and he panted in short, raspy breaths as he fought desperately to control his terror.
Beady eyes stared unflinchingly into Kouga's horror stricken gaze in a silent challenge. The Ookami Prince whimpered in submission. Victorious, the mouse twitched his nose and scampered down the length of Kouga's prone body. Only after the tiny grey mouse had scurried out of the den did the mighty leader of the Yourouzoku sigh in relief.
