If I’d Known; We’d Be Together
Story summary: Sapphire is slowly dieing; but no one knows; not even Frank; only she knows her fate… she is never coming home… (new summary coming soon! Keep an eye out!)
Chapter 2: You’re Bringing An End To These Promises

I watched her chest fade to a slower movement; every hour passing, it’d slow even further; and no one would do anything to help her… she was slowly dieing and no one is doing anything to help her!
I sighed; grabbing the tiny, cold, limp hand before me; wiping the tears with my other sleeve
“Hey Sapphire” I quivered in my seat “It’s Frankie. The boys all left earlier; but I stayed; only for a few more minutes though.”
No response
“I bought you some chocolate… for when you get better… there your favorite too!” I put a forced smile on my face
Still no response
“And Gerard made you a comic, want me to read it to you?”
I paused for a moment; hoping for some reaction; but still, nothing moved, her sapphire eyes were still shut and her body was still cold and pale. It was like she was dead… but alive at the same time.
I squeezed tighter on her hand; brushing it up on my cheek. Her skin was so cold; but it still managed to feel soft like silk; it was still able to send shivers down my spine; it was still her…
“Sapphire; remember those words we said to eachother when we first met? We said that we would never leave eachother; that we will die together; never leave one of us alone; do you remember? Do you? Say you’ll mean it; say you wont leave”
Nothing…
“Please…?” I whimpered.
It was soon very clear to me that she wasn’t going to wake up… I wasn’t going to see those sapphire eye’s anymore; her skin will never turn back to the warm, soothing color it once was, nor will her smile lift my spirits again… she wasn’t coming back; she’s bringing an end to the promises we made…
So I closed my eyes for a moment; trying my best to throw the tears that have welled back into my head; when I felt a hand gently caress the side of my face
My eyes shot open; darting right a sapphire; where I was met by a beautiful smile; and eyes that told me everything; sure she was pale; just like a ghost; but all I saw was that smile; it melted every bone in my body; my insides turned warm; my eyes became wet and my cheeks turned hot; she was beautiful… and I was the only one who could see that right now.
She pulled her hand away from my face and went to the wires and monitors hooked up to her; my eyes followed every slow movement; and she weakly smiled; laughing just a little bit; not a whole lot; but just a little
“This is our chemical romance”
Her voice was scratchy and unclear; but I knew what she meant
“Looks like this is were I end it, Frankie. Looks like in going to die in a hospital bed” she pulled one needle out “Looks like I'm going to have to give everything to you” she pulled another out “But make sure you keep it safe; I don’t mind if you give to the homeless” she pulled the air mask over head and onto the floor “It’s what I would want you to do… but you must keep one thing” she pulled the patches over her heart out; making the monitor screech “I would like you to keep my locket that I always wore… it was my grandma’s… please keep it safe for me…”
I shook my head “No”
Her eyes widened; shock was written all over her face “Why not?”
“Because, you will wear that once again… you will wear it more than once; you will wear it everyday for the rest of our lives; because you will live; you will make it through all of this pain; please sapphire… don’t break our promise!”
Her face softened; her eyes grew tired and her hand returned to my cheek; she smiled “I would love that,”
I nodded; my face twisted up as I choked back the hiccups that dared to escape my mouth
“But I'm afraid otherwise Frankie; I'm afraid that I will not last much longer here. But I want you to know that I love you; I love you more than anything; than my family; than my friends; you were my best friend; and although we never married; you were my husband at heart” she quickly looked around the room “Tell Gerard I'm sorry I was never able to read his comic book; tell Ray I'm sorry I never got to watch that tape he sent me… tell Bob I said I'm sorry that I never got to play that game he said he wanted to play with me…”
“Please don’t go!! Please; I will never be happy; don’t leave me here alone!!... please sapphire…” I pleaded; the tears racing down my cheeks
She smiled, a weak, tired and defenseless smile
“I must my baby. I will always be watching and listening to your prayers; I will kiss you goodnight, every night. But please, please be happy without me, please… find happiness with your friends, live happiness with me at heart, breath happiness on those winter nights to know that I am right by your side, and most of all; love again; love with all of you heart to a new, lucky girl, and only that will make me happy. Only that…”
Her voice grew faint; and her eyes grew heavy; she started to breath slow and rhythmic.
“…Will make me happy”
“I love you” she whispered
Her eyes closed; her hand fell from my face; and her breathing stopped; but not until one lone tear streaked across her angelic face…
So I cried and cried; I cried when the doctors came; I cried when Gerard came to get me; I cried on the way home; and I cried myself to sleep with one little one little voice in my head…
’I will kiss you goodnight; every night’
