The dress remained in it's bag for utter lack of weddings but I did not regret having it. I may have felt a little guilty about Pete buying it for me though, but he constantly reminded me that he didn't mind.
Pete and I are still separated yet we've become best friends all over again. We barely leave each other's sides, and we always have to know what the other is doing.
Today though, he was no where to be found and no one knew where he had gone. Amy and Leslie told me that they'd go with me in downtown Kansas City to go find him and possibly get some shopping done.
I know I sound a little stalkerish but the girls and the rest of Fall Out Boy agree we should keep an eye on Pete so he doesn't relapse into another suicide attempt.
Leslie tossed her cellphone at me from the driver's seat. "Call him, he's number six."
I pressed six and talk and listened to the buzzing of an unanswered phone. "Com on Pete. Answer."
After around 10 rings Pete's voicemail kicked in.
"Hey this is Pete! I'm not here right now-"
I heard somone who vaugely sounded like a teenage me ask "You're not here? OH. MY. GOD. You're a ghost aren't you?!"
Pete laughed into the phone. "What are you high off of?"
My voice became clearer as the younger me came closer. "You, ghosty boy."
Pete nervously cleared his throuat and began talking again "Well, le-"
I broke in and said quietly "Just call back later." Then there was a beem and my voicemail message began recording, but I didn't say anything. I was too busy trying not to burst into happy tears. That voicemail message was recorded when we were 15, just when we realized that i was a girl and he was a boy. The hormones.
Finally I realized what I was doing and nervously stammered out. "Hey Pete, what's up? I'm just calling to see where you are, cause we all miss you-"
Leslie laughed. "Especially Kendra!" she exclaimed.
"Shut up!" I cried back sounding like I was 13 all over again. "Anyways, call Leslie's phone back if you want to talk to us little people." I hesitated before adding "I love you. Bye."
Amy and Leslie exchanged looks up in the front seat but didn't say anything. I looked out the window at the pasing shops not really taking anything in. That is until we stopped at a red light and I saw 'Puppy: Free' with a brown and white bull-dog cowering in the corner of the cardboard box on the side of the road.
Before I knew what I was doing I crawled out of the car and gathered the puppy in my arms.
"Hello there." I cooed. "I'm going to name you-" I looked around and was nearly run over by a man who was reading The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway. "Your name shall be Hemingway."
Hemingway gave me a doggy smile and sneezed.
Amy and Leslie pulled up to the curb.
"What are you doing?" Amy exclaimed.
I smiled at her "Amy and Leslie meet Hemingway. The new addition to the family."
They exchanged looks and nodded like it was a good name and then beckoned me back into the car.
I laughed and climbed in. Hemingway crawled around taking in every sight of Kansas City.
We stopped at a local Petsmart and got all of Hemingway's necessities plus a little extra.
Finally, we tumbled into the bus tired, sweaty, and hands full of bags not for us but for Hemingway, the dog who stood faithfully by my side.
But he wasn't going to be mine.
"Hey Andy, is Pete here?" I asked.
He pointed back to the bnks. I smiled and picked up Hemingway. Crawling into the cramped bunk space wasn't easy but I made it to Pete's curtained bunk in a little over five minutes.
I opened the curtains and saw Pete. His gameboy, currently in his hands, dropped when he saw Hemmy in my arms.
"He's yours." I replied. "His name is Hemingway."
Pete reached up like a little child. I laughed and placed Hemmy in his arms.
"Thanks." He murmured.
"No problem>" I replied quietly.
We stared at each other for awhile until I finally turned away to go back but I still heard his words.
"I love you too."

Hemmy, Hemmy, Hemmy.
I'm pissed. Like seriously, majorly, pissed. I tried out for my play. I had my audition info, I had it all filled out and signed, and then I went to my Photo class to be NICE and make PICTURES for my PARENTS and when I came out it was gone. No where to be found. When I checked the post to see if my name was up there it wasn't. I'm not in the stupid, fucking, play. I'm totally pissed. I wanted to be in this play SOOOO bad, but NO!!!!!!
I'm glad you guys love me or else I would have shot myself by now.
Enjoy!
