Chop the Door Down
She waited with arms crossed
Sitting on the porch for him to come home
While he just sat on a random bed
eyes closed, thinking of nothing at all
Her limbs were already numb when he finally called and said
“I’m sorry, I lied”
Fiction becomes your reality, what happened to
“Oh, everyone but me”
Now you know how it’s like
Now both of them feel like crap
He knows it’s wrong
He knows she’s right
But no one’s perfect
No one’s perfect
She knows, he knows…They were far from perfect anyway
And I reflect what happened to oh, me
All of the fights I heard through my closed door
Now fiction’s my reality
He still cries at night
From time to time she waits on the porch at night
If none of them will scream
Then I’ll scream for them
‘cause I know what’s to feel like
“This is never going to happen”
And I relate when he said
“This is for the best”
And I agree when she says
“You’re a jerk”
And there’s no fiction, there’s no reality
It’s just you and me
And we’re oh so far from perfect, babe
She waited with arms crossed
Sitting on the porch for him to come home
While he just sat on a random bed
eyes closed, thinking of nothing at all
Her limbs were already numb when he finally called and said
“I’m sorry, I lied”
