3 hours and 5 cups of coffee each later, Brendon knew all about Jamie. He knew she lived in the apartment building on the side street that had led him to the Spin and Sip. He knew that she owned a tabby cat named Jimmy Hendrix. She found him as a stray and took him in. She had moved from Italy to Vegas 2 years ago to escape her parents old traditions of arranged marriage and not going to school. She met Cameron, the co-owner of the Spin and Sip, at a hostel. He was like an older brother to her. He was 25. Jamie, like Brendon, was 20. They both hated spiders and loved Third eye blind. Her nickname was Stix, because of her skinniness (Which was caused by an overactive metabolisim) and the fact that she had been drumming since she was four. In turn, Jamie knew all about Panic! at the disco, who she had heard a few times before and liked them. She knew the story behind "Brennybear" and all about the other bandmates. She knew they had rented a penthouse apartment until they went back on tour. Neither Jamie nor Brendon had ever felt so connected with someone before.
"So Stix, what do we do now, now that we pretty much know each other backwards and front." Brendon laughed as he flicked a suger cube at Jamie. She tossed a stir stick at him from behind the counter, where she was cleaning up so she could close the cafe down. It was now 1 in the morning, and they were alone.
"I dunno. What's left to do, Brenny bear." She giggled. She took off her unifourm, revealing a tight black tank top.
"We could go back to the apartment, and you could meet the guys?" Brendon suggested. Most girls would scream, but Jamie smiled.
"I'm not sure. I told Cam I'd be home to help paint the kitchen...." She said. Brendon was shocked.
"You... you live with him?" Brendon asked. Jamie giggled.
"Yeah, but don't worry. He plays for the other team, if you know what I mean." She said, winking. Brendon understood and relaxed.
"You deserve a night off! Come on, it'll be fun!" Brendon said, walking over and leaning on the counter. Jamie pulled on her sweater and grabbed her "Cheesy love songs" mixed tape tote bag.
"Fine. But let me call Cammy, okay?" She said. She pulled out her cell phone, hit a speed dial button, and put the phone to her ear. She spoke for a moment, then smiled and hung up. "Let's go." She said. She locked up the cafe and they started down the road. The night had gotten colder. Jamie shivered. Brendon instinctivly put his arm around her shoulders.
"Aren't you cold?" She asked him, her teeth chattering slightly. Brendon thought about taking the tough guy approach, but decided against it.
"Yeah, but I'm more used to it." He said. Jamie put her arm around his waist. They walked to The Strip, where Brendon hailed a cab. They were quiet for most of the ride. The radio was on, and "Dear Jamie..." by Hellogoodbye started to play. Jamie laughed and told Brendon that this was her theme song. He chuckled. They both started to sing along. When the song finished, the looked at each other. They moved closer, closer, their noses were touching-
"We're here." The driver said gruffly. Jamie giggled, a look of mischieve in her eyes. She kissed Brendon's nose, then stepped out of the cab.
*And there is chapter 2. Short, but I'm busy trying to solve a crisis. More later.*
"Dear Jamie, I've got a letter I would like to send."
