“How many people get to be twenty two for the rest of their lives” my mother would say every time I complained about the life we live, if you would call it that, I looked at her with a smirk across my face
“you know that’s not what I meant, I want to know what it’s like to love and be loved by someone, not forced upon by your parents” I snapped which made her smile more
“Niomi you need to realised that you are in unique in many ways which most people cannot see” she said as she packed my final article for my trip
“Mother, I don’t want to visit your friends in the country, I am quite happy here” I replied, she frowned
“it will do you good to be with them, you’re going and that’s that” she said, I sighed and slammed the case shut as she pushed me to a mirror and made me look at myself
“your beautiful, your dark hair and green eyes will make any man fall helplessly in love you with, you need to have a break and be with only your kind my dear” she replied and played with my long hair, I nodded just to keep her happy as a knock came from my door
“Come in father” I said softly as he opened the door and smiled
“Ready the car is here” he said, I looked up
“Father I thought I was driving myself?” I asked, he laughed
“Yes you are, I got you a present Niomi” he replied, I smiled and grabbed my bag as he took my hand and helped me down to the courtyard, I smiled more as I blood red sports car sat there waiting for me
“You like it?” he asked, I gasped and nodded as I gently touched the paint work with my cold fingers
“I packed you some lunch, it’s in the glove box” he said, I nodded as I put my suitcase in the boot and turned around to my parents
“Well I will send you a letter when I arrive I guess” I said as I looked into my father’s eyes
“for your mothers sake yes, for me I know you will be fine” he replied, I nodded and hugged my father, I looked at my mother who was close to tears
“be safe and enjoy being there” she simply said, I nodded and hugged her softly
“I promise I will, see you both soon” I replied as I climbed into the car, I started my engine and waved good bye as I drove away a sense of freedom but also a feeling of being trapped at my mother’s wish, but all in all this would make her happy which in the end will make everyone happy well my fathers and mine mostly.
I looked down the highway and smiled as I watched most girls my age, well technically not my age as I am very much older than twenty two in numbers, but I knew they did not have the things I have, they have something more than what I have, A heat beat, to live and much to my dismissal to die which I envied most from them , they looked at me with hate and envy in their eyes if only they knew that I was the one who hated them more, I looked at them and smiled as I pushed my car accelerator down and took off down the high way I didn’t need that kind near me, I would show them how easy it would be just to kill them as I could smell their blood from the car, I looked at the map as I kept driving, this was confusing, how was I meant to get there, I pulled over at a gas station and walked inside, I kept to myself as I walked to the front desk
“Excuse me, but how do I get to the town Lillytine” I asked as I looked at him, he looked up at me and smiled
“Turn down the number five exit and keep going, you will see it in about an hour” he said, I nodded and grabbed my map as he touched my hand making him jump with fright
“Thanks” I replied leaving him in shock, I quickly moved back to my car before he realised what I am and sped off back into the free way as I made my way to my destination.
