Lucius pulled his shirt off and stepped into the impromptu ring formed by his fellow Slytherins. This was the most ancient of ways to settle disputes, resorted to only in the most extreme situations. It was with this in mind that Severus shrugged out of his own patched robes and worn shirt. He was aware that he looked like a scrawny parody of a man, even without Lucius's golden perfection beside him.
They shook hands, and stood apart while Narcissa Black explained the rules with cool formality. She would not look at either of them. She thinks it's ridiculous too. It wasn't much to hold on to, but it was something, while Malfoy dropped him three times without even trying, and that was that.
Slytherin would follow Voldemort.
