Chapter 5: The Elder Emerges

"Why do you fight me little brother?" the dark figure questioned sarcastically. All around the two figures a battle was being waged. All manner of dark and light creatures were fighting savagely as the armies of both men clashed ferociously. In the center of it all stood the two men, one with icy blue eyes and the other with vibrant yellow eyes. The two men eyed each other with fury as both held their swords in their hands tightly. The man with icy eyes raised his weapon and pointed it at the figure before him,

"Because you wish to destroy all that you deem unworthy. You're evil and you don't deserve life."

At this the man with yellow eyes laughed heartily, "No dear brother, you're no longer as noble as you once were. I think it's vengeance you fight for now. You can't stand the fact that I took her can you Alexander? You would sacrifice all that follow you because of a woman. I shouldn't be surprised."

Alexander's rage began to grow at this statement, "You killed her, for no reason, other than she loved me. I swear I will make you pay for what you have done. I will not let you destroy others as you would me Lucien," he spoke in a cold, hard voice.

"You will try Xander," Lucien replied venomously. No more words were exchanged as Alexander launched at Lucien swinging his weapon in aheated attack. The two men continued to fight with fury and unimaginable speed and power until Alexander landed a powerful blow which sent Lucien flying backwards. Maximizing his advantage, Alexander leaped forward to attack again,

"Let's see what our actions have wrought dear brother,"Lucien hissed coldly. He lifted his palm into the air and a blue-white orb began to form around both combatants. Alexander continued to charge at his brother, not noticing the orb of light and vanishing with it as it collapsed...

Alexander's eyes flew open as he pulled himself out of his flashback. A single tear fell down his cheek as he thought of the love of his life, the woman who taught him what true affection was. Sorrow turned to anger as his thoughts drifted to his scum of a brother, Lucien. If he was here, then Lucien certainly was as well. Weeks of searching had brought him nothing, Lucien was hiding himself well. Perhaps he had returned to his old ways, building an army quietly and biding his time. He would not allow this to happen again, he would stop Lucien no matter what. It was time to see if he could lure him out, as he once had before.

Alexander's thoughts then came to rest on the young man he had saved not hours ago. He sensed something in that man, something familiar. And now, he felt an odd link to the man. Maybe it was the blood magic he had performed to save his life. He felt as if the man now held a part of him within his body. Even in his time blood magic was mysterious, but given his condition, it was necessary. He could sense vague portions of the man past, his thoughts, and his feelings. At first it was a rush, and a bit overwhelming, but after a few moments, he began to organize his mind and shut the memories out. He proceeded to eliminate them from his mind, not wishing to get truly involved with this individual nor invade his privacy. However, there was one emotion present throughout the man's life that he simply could not ignore, the need to be perfect, protect everyone and keep them safe. It was this feeling that almost plunged him into darkness had it not been for...her. Dismissing that train of thought, he focused once again on finding ways to draw Lucien out of hiding...

Harry awoke slowly as he groggily blinked his eyes. He felt something warm resting on his side and groaned lightly as he tightened his arms, drawing the presence closer. He was rewarded with a giggle and a kiss to his chest. He looked to the beauty resting on him and smiled. She looked up into his eyes and leaned up to kiss him. Harry rested a hand on the back of her head, drawing her closer. Ginny smiled against his lips and scratched his chest lightly. When air became a necessity, the pair broke apart, only to lightly kiss each other again. Ginny was the first to rise, kissing Harry's chest once more as she left the bed. Harry pouted at her and she giggled, turning to face him completely starkers, "As much as I'd love to shag you all day, we do have to go to the Burrow remember?"

Harry sighed and got out of bed as well, walking over to Ginny and wrapping an arm around her waist as he rested his head on top of hers, "If we have to, but let's shower first yeah?" Ginny grinned as she looked down at Harry's member, his meaning of the word shower obvious in its erect stance. She reached down and grasped him lightly, smirking as he sucked in a breath, "As long as we actually get washed up before we leave."

Harry pouted, "So no wet fun then?" Ginny only gripped him more firmly and said seductively, "I never said that Mr. Potter." She began to lead him into the bathroom, still grasping his member. Once inside she closed the door and turned on the water, beckoning Harry in with her finger to have some fun...

"That's it!" Alexander exclaimed loudly.

Immediately the solid man leapt up from his seat and drew his dagger. He began to move the dagger in a complex pattern, slicing the air and muttering an incantation softly. A glow began to emit from his body as he finished the lengthy incantation. Without a moment's hesitation, Alexander brought the blade to the area around a set of tattoos on his arm, and cut deeply, blood bubbling out of the wound immediately. His tattoos began to glow with a faint blue light as he crouched down. He began to draw a foreign and intricate shape is his own blood on the floor beneath him. With the shape complete, Alexander rose to his full height, squared his upper body and spoke clearly,

"By my blood, and the oath taken by those who would follow me, I summon you, my faithful companions. Come forth to this plane and head my call. The evil has risen once more and you are needed."

Alexander felt a strong tug on his consciousness as he felt the spell call forth his magic, using it to pull the souls of his long dead followers into existence. Luckily, he had expected this, and was not overwhelmed by the exhaustion that followed. However, what he didn't expect, was the sudden flood of raw power that entered his body. He fell to his knees as pain and bursting power overtook him. His hands flew to cradle the sides of his head as he began to howl and roar loudly. The room surrounding him began to shake as the walls began to crack. A bright red light began to emanate from his body. His fingers painfully gripped his head harder as he struggled to regain control.

Several moments later, the pain had stopped and he rose shakily. His head still pounding slightly,

"What the bloody hell was that!?" he yelled to himself. Suddenly, a section of the wall he was facing blew out at his loud shout. The hole left behind was easily twice the size of his head. Power was radiating from his body as he breathed heavily.

A large, purple orb began to form in the center of the room, 5 meters away from him. He stood his ground, shaking as he tried to control the new power pulsing through his body. As he closed his eyes in concentration, a being emerged from the orb and approached him slowly. It was a large male, easily 7 feet tall with large, well defined muscles covering his body. His body was also covered in dark blue tattoos, arranged in odd combinations and shapes. His lower body was covered in a lengthy, black sash.

Alexander opened his eyes to gaze at the man before him, his breathing leveling out as recognition began to dawn on his features. He immediately dropped his head and bowed on one knee.

"I never thought I'd see you again...Crosis," he said reverently.

As Crosis finished emerging from the orb his wings became visible. They were at least 10 meters in diameter from tip to tip, whitish-grey feathers covering them completely. The wings folded behind him as he relaxed, "Rise my friend, we have much to discuss," he replied.

Harry and Ginny Apparated to the front of the Burrow 2 hours later, hand in hand. Ginny wore a form fitting light blue tank top with a lose pair of dark blue jeans while Harry wore a loose black t-shirt with slacks. Both wore million-watt smiles as they casually strolled up to the front door, each seeming to glow with their steps. Before either could knock on the door it was flung open by none other than Molly Weasley. The matriarch wasted no time in pulling both of her children into bone crushing hugs, fussing over how thin they looked thinner than usual and hurrying them into the Kitchen for some "much need food."

Harry slid his arm to Ginny's lower back as he walked beside her into the room. She responded by leaning into him and kissing his chin lightly. As the couple entered, Ron and Hermione rose to meet them. Hermione wore a beautiful yellow dress that flowed around her with Ron wearing tan slacks and a crimson t-shirt. Hermione smiled brightly as she approached the two before enveloping Harry in a tight hug. She then made it her mission to grill him with questions until she was positive he was alright. Ron gave his sister a one-armed hug and a kiss on the hair in greeting. He then patted Harry on the back as the girls trailed off giggling and talking in excited whispers,"Never change do they?" he chuckled.

"Wouldn't have it any other way," Harry replied as Ron laughed in agreement. As both men began to follow the girls Harry froze in his tracks and clutched his head, wincing in pain and closing his eyes. Ron gripped his shoulder tightly to steady him, "Alright there mate?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine," was Harry's response. He shook his head and went to resume his walk when the pain came back stronger than before. Harry gripped the sides of his head hard, hissing as the ache began to grow. He tried to shake it off again but to no avail as the pain only continued to magnify with each passing second. He couldn't hold himself up anymore, collapsing to his knees and still pushing at his temples hard, not noticing the girls and Molly running back into the room as Ron fell to his side, holding him steady. He started groaning painfully as visions began to swim in his head, fading in and out as rapidly as they came:

Two tall, muscular men with huge white-grey wings folded behind their backs stood conversing heatedly.

"We could rule them brother. They are weak and undeserving. They are mortal creatures who gain our Lord's favor whilst they curse and reject him!" one of the figures whispered fiercely.

The other held his ground and spoke sternly, "That is not our choice to make. You would do well to remember that."

The vision before his eyes melted away as another took its place,

"He's gone Alexander; he fled to the mortal plane before who could reach him. We have no leads as to where he could have gone," one figure spoke. He wore gold plated armor that covered his torso and upper arms completely while he wielded a silver javelin in his left hand, his right holding onto a large bronze shield. His wings were spread out to their full width, making his look majestic.

The man referred to as Alexander wore slim, form fitting gold armor that only covered his torso while two pairs of greaves protected his forearms and shins. His wings were tucked around his arms, concealing his true size. He grasped a short sword with a shining steel blade and jewel encrusted gold handle in his left hand,

"I know where he went. I will find him, and I will bring him to justice Crosis," Alexander replied.

Crosis nodded his head slowly, "Then you know what you must sacrifice."

Alexander tilted his head in acknowledgement, "It's worth it. He must not succeed."

The vision faded again and Harry began to cry out as the pain continued to climb. The only thing he could do was grip his head harder, oblivious to the strokes of his hair Ginny made as she cradled him in her lap, holding his head into her chest, kissing his hair and rocking him gently. Another vision began to clear in his mind's eye, causing him to yell as a new surge of pain hit him.

Alexander stood in a clearing, his armor and clothes gone, save a black sash that covered his lower body down to his knees. His large white-grey wings were also absent, his black hair shortened and spiked up, allowing his icy blue eyes to stand out. There were several jet black tattoos covering his body, all arranged in odd and indistinguishable runes with the largest of them placed on his chest, covering his heart. Thankfully, he still possessed his beautiful sword. His eyes scanned the horizon intently while he sheathed his glorious weapon...

By now tears were falling freely down Harry's cheeks as the pain remained. He could faintly feel soft kisses placed on his cheeks as two warm hands caressed his head gently. A new image slammed into view, causing him to cry out involuntarily,

"You thought I would come alone? I'm not a fool like you Alexander," a dark figure taunted as several bulky beings stood behind him in the blistering daylight.

"Who said I was alone?" a being that resembled Alexander chuckled. As his words landed on the ears of his foes 10 beings of similar build to him rose and emerged from the shadows, coming to stand beside their leader.

Harry was breathing heavily, barely remaining conscious as afinal vision became clear,

It was dark, cold and raining with lightning pulsing in the sky. It was hell, it was a battlefield. Corpses and wounded bodies littered the ground as two small groups continued in ferocious combat. Alexander was at the front line, swiftly and precisely swinging his mighty blade and leaving no foe in his path. His attention was suddenly drawn by the shouts of his arch enemy,

/"Alexander!"/

His gaze was drawn to his rival and the woman in his arms, a curvy and sinister dagger pointed at her neck. He squared his shoulders and faced the evil being that was taunting him,

"Let her go Lucien. This is between us," he spoke calmly.

Lucien smiled evilly, "No. The battle may be yours, but your heart is mine!" he declared menacingly as he plunged the blade fully into the woman's neck, then pulling it out violently while tossing her body aside.

"DIE!!" Alexander screamed as he charged at Lucien with blinding speed. He swung his blade outwards away from chest, connecting with Lucien's face as the man tried to back away, leaving a deep gash in his cheek. Lucien howled in pain and fled the battlefield, summoning his forces with him in retreat whilst clutching his mangled and wounded face.

Alexander went to the body of the woman, dropping his weapon and falling to his knees beside her body. His arms slipped under her back, drawing her body to his chest as he roared and yelled in pure sorrow and rage into the dark, unforgiving sky...

The visions finally faded into the back of his mind, causing Harry to collapse in weakness and grip the body cuddling him protectively. He opened his eyes slowly and smiled slightly at Ginny, who was supporting his head with one hand and stroking his forehead with other. She bent down and placed a gentle kiss to his scar as his strength slowly returned.

"You gave me a scare baby. Are you ok?" she inquired as she continued to stroke his face and head, holding him to her warm body protectively.

Harry reached up to grace her cheek with his palm, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear, "Y-yeah love, just got taken by surprise. I'm fine." Ginny smiled and leaned down to kiss him tenderly, releasing her hold and pulling him up as they broke apart.

As soon as he was standing Hermione grabbed both of his cheeks firmly and stared into his eyes, forcing him to look into her deep brown pools of concern and reprimand, "Don't do that to us again Harry James Potter. Do you understand me?" she said sternly and slowly as she rubbed his cheeks with her thumbs slowly. Harry smiled and reached up to cover her hands on his cheeks, "I promise. Wouldn't want you getting all stressed out over little old me now would we?" he answered.

Hermione smacked his left cheek gently, "You certainly are cheeky lately aren't you?"

Ginny looped her arm through Harry's, gripping his bicep as she spoke, "No worries Hermione, I'll straighten him out." Harry simply smiled widely at her as she led him into the kitchen. "Think we can actually start eating this time? Or are you going to have another fit?" she jested. Harry only leaned over and kissed her firmly on the cheek, "I'm starving! Let's dig in!"he answered.

As if on cue, Mrs. Weasley rushed over and hurried Harry to the table, seating him next to Ginny and Hermione. She began to fuss over him and place mountains of food in front of all of them. Without missing a beat, Ron began to shovel food into his maw with abandon. Ginny and Hermione huffed with disgust while Harry laughed at his friend's antics. Several moments of quiet consumption passed until Ron swallowed his recent mouthful and spoke up,

"What happened earlier mate? Was it like it the visions with Voldemort?"

Ginny subconsciously grabbed hold of Harry's arm while Hermione clasped her hand over his on the table, squeezing it in support. Harry blinked heavily and cleared his mind, trying to process all he had seen. Then he remembered his vow to keep Ron and the others safe, resulting in a slight blurring of the facts on his part.

"It was like...memories of another life. It was full of duty, sacrifice, pain and war. I didn't recognize the person the memories seemed to focus on. It's all...so confusing. I still can't make sense of it. It was like...ugh," Harry iterated with frustration.

Ginny rubbed his arm as Hermione squeezed his hand supportively. "It's alright mate, don't stress yourself out over it. We'll figure it out," Ron answered. Hermione nodded at him while Ginny picked his left hand up and kissed the back of it softly. Harry smiled brightly and bobbed his head to his friends.

After lunch was finished the group decided to relax by the garden in the sunlight. Harry sat down with Ginny resting between his legs, her head on his shoulder and back against his chest. Harry settled his head on her shoulder next to her right cheek while circling her waist with his arms, holding her close. She relaxed against him and gripped his wrists with her hands, caressing them slowly as she closed her eyes in contentment. Harry began to place small kisses on her shoulder and neck, inhaling her smell of flowers and treacle tart. She reached behind her to rub the back of his head, smiling at the contact his lips made with her sensitive neck. This caused Harry to start to nip and suckle her neck lightly, earning giggles of appreciation and excitement from her.

Ron sat with Hermione's head in his lap, rubbing small circles on her temple with his left hand, using his right to stroke her hair gently. Hermione wore a small smile as her face was warmed by the bright sun. Her hands were crossed over her slightly swollen stomach, caressing it gently. She let out a deep breath, her brilliant smile only widening more. Ron leaned over and kissed her softly on the lips, his left hand holding her cheek lightly. Hermione caressed Ron's cheek and kissed him chastely again as they parted. Life sure was good at the Burrow...

"How are you here? I thought we weren't allowed to cross onto this plane as we are," Alexander inquired.

Crosis chuckled and pointed to the runes tattooed across his body as he said, "These runes allow temporary visitation. My time is limited, so let me begin."

"By all means," Alexander replied.

Crosis' stance relaxed and his wings folded back behind him as he spoke, "I know you felt the surge of power. It is the magic of some of your followers. The power has returned because certain bloodlines of your followers are extinct. It was their wish that their power and magic be transferred to you should they be unable to assist you in the future. Currently, only the Gryffindor, Prewett, Hufflepuff, Longbottom and Chang bloodlines have heirs."

Alexander nodded in acknowledgement, "Continue."

"The spell you performed earlier will summon the allegiances of those in the current bloodlines. They will be bound to help you in your quest, and will most likely contact their allies and bring them as well. From what we could tell, this will bring you at least two dozen wizards and witches, all very powerful in their own right. However, since your brother shares your blood, the spell has also summoned and bound the heirs of his followers as well. Currently, only the Black bloodline possesses an heir," Crosis stated.

"I don't see a problem then. The Blacks were always the weakest of his generals anyway," Alexander stated.

Crosis sighed before speaking, "That's where it gets complicated I'm afraid. The Slytherin line was active until two years ago, when its heir was finally killed. Lucien knows this, and he currently attempting to find a vessel for the power of the Slytherin bloodline."

"He's looking for a vessel? But the only one suitable would be...no. He cannot, the boy's allegiance belongs to me. He is the decedent of Marcus, there is no way the connection could ever override his blood allegiance," Alexander proclaimed hotly.

"He does not want the boy's body, mind or allegiance, he needs his blood. Despite the heir being dead, the boy's blood still retains some of the power he had acquired from the connection between himself and the heir. Should he get the boy's blood he will be able to turn anyone into the Heir of Slytherin, thus calling on the bloodline's power and allegiance once again. Alexander, this must not happen. Our lord has declared that you must find the boy along with all of your followers and safeguard them until you can locate Lucien," Crosis ordered.

"I don't take orders from him anymore. I have sacrificed enough, and I intend to end this my way. I will find Lucien and kill him myself. There is no need to involve the others," Alexander defiantly answered.

"They are already involved my friend, whether you want them to be or not. Set aside your pain and finish this once and for all. I fear if you both continue to influence this world the results will tear it apart and cast the remnants into darkness. My time is almost up Alexander, find Harry Potter and keep him safe. Continue to recruit as many allies as you can, I have a feeling you will need them. Even if you no longer trust our lord, trust /me./I have never lied to you or steered you wrong," Crosis urged.

Alexander squared his shoulders and bowed slightly, "Only for you my friend."

"Be careful of the effects your actions may have, I cannot stress that enough," Crosis answered as he bowed to his friend, a purplish orb of light appearing behind him and swallowing him up.

Alexander watched as new pitch black runes began to take shape on his body, covering his forearms, shoulders, back and stomach. The rune on his chest glowed brightly, changing into a deep blue color and contracting slightly, covering the spot over his heart. He clenched his fists as power surged through him, concentrating on controlling the new strength within.

He brought his hand up to his chest, holding his hand open a foot away from him as a yellow orb pulsed and grew. As he closed his fingers slowly, the orb began to dissipate until it disappeared beneath his closed fist. Breathing deeply, he closed his eyes and sent out the call for the descendants of his followers to come to him and meet at Hogwarts' Room of Requirement.

"Come here you!" Ginny yelled as she chased after Harry in the Burrow's yard, her clothes grass stained and her hair littered with leaves.

"What's the matter half pint? Can't catch me?" Harry taunted as he ran away from Ginny, his clothes similarly grass-stained.

Ginny grinned deviously when he turned away from her and continued to run. Closing her eyes, she disappeared with a pop causing Harry to stop in his tracks and look around for her. A sudden crack brought his attention to right in front of him. He was tackled hard to the ground, a body straddling and pinning him firmly. Sitting above him with a smug smile on her face was Ginny, her hands placed on his chest holding him down.

"You cheated!" Harry exclaimed.

Ginny only smirked at him and ruffled his hair as she spoke,"You never said 'no magic' love. It's not my fault that you're too much of adolt to remember to use it."

Harry smirked and gripped her by her sides, pulling her down to him, "Who said I wanted to win? I happen to like where I am," he responded.

Ginny cupped his face, answering in a soft, seductive voice,"So do I."

She leaned down, kissing him hard and passionately, caressing his face as she continued to straddle him. Things soon got even more heated with the couple continuing to caress and snog the life out of each other. Ginny was pouring all of her love for Harry into every kiss, every caress and nuzzle she gave him. Harry smiled against her lips, enjoying the warmth that flowed from her body and relishing in her love and devotion. Slowly, their kisses calmed in passion and were replaced with tenderness, reverence and affection. When both of their bodies demanded air they broke apart, Ginny resting her head on his chest, bringing her body flush with his and nuzzling into his body. Harry wrapped his arms around her and held her close, kissing her hair, stroking her sides and whispering sweet nothings into her ear. She was caressing his chest, snuggling further into him and smiling as his words of love and endearment reached her ears.

Suddenly, a warm sensation passed through Harry's body, causing him to twitch slightly and gasp quietly. Ginny immediately raised her head from his chest and searched his face when she felt him twitch.

"Harry?" she questioned.

He looked down at her with a confused expression, "Did you feel that?" he asked.

"Feel what?" she replied.

"It was...like I could feel someone calling me, urging me to go the Hogwarts. I can't explain it, but whatever 'called' me didn't mean me any harm. I have to go there," Harry iterated.

"If you're going then I'm coming with you," she stated.

Before Harry could respond, Ron and Hermione flew out the back door heading towards Harry and Ginny. Ignoring their positions, Ron began to speak excitedly,

"Did you feel that Harry?"

"Yeah I did, you as well?" Harry asked.

Ron nodded, "Hermione did too. What do you think it means?"

Harry stood, bringing Ginny with him and holding her in his arms as he spoke, "I don't know, but we're going. Are you ready?"

Ron and Hermione nodded, clasping hands, preparing to Apparate. Harry held Ginny close to him, kissing her forehead before focusing his mind on Hogwarts, picturing it in his mind before the group disappeared with four soft pops...
