The Birthday Boy

Ginny Potter walked into the newly opened Portland’s Fine Wizards Jewelry on the day of her husband’s birthday to find the perfect present. It was hard to pull off a surprise on her husband and this year she wanted to make sure he was shocked. He always seemed to know when she was doing something special for him and somehow ruined the surprise. So, she planned this outing perfectly. She purposefully waited to buy his present at the last minute, since last year’s birthday was ruined after he went snooping around the house. She wanted to keep it with her since the year before Ron found his present at Hermione’s and ‘let it slip’ to Harry what it was. She purposefully left the kids, since the birthday her son piped up the minute he saw his dad, “Daddy! We just got you the best new broom compass! It tells you where you’re going, where you’ve been, it even tells you which direction we are from you! Momma had us prick our finger to get it… what was that word? Oh, yeah, callimiarated… or something like that…” Needless to say she simply hung her head in yet another failed attempt. The list of her attempts to keep secrets from her childish husband was numerous.

Peeking out the shop window, she was careful not to knock any of the many boxes that lined the wall over as she gingerly looked at the display cases. She was looking for a present that was as unique as her husband. After shooing away the sales witch and grimacing at the many gaudy rings and a particularly garish chain with a broomstick featuring a revolving snitch carved in the handle she had almost given up hope. Then she spotted the present that seemed destined to occupy her husband’s neck. It was a simple chain with a round ruby and emerald charm. There was a leaf of gold separating the two stones and the words “Leap of Faith” were etched into the small strip of gold. Since it seemed so appropriate for their love she knew she had to have it.

“I see you have a discerning taste. That is probably one of our most prized possessions.” The clerk remarked at the sight of Ginny holding the box.

“This is incredible. How much?”

“Twelve hundred and fifty galleons.”

“For this?” she took a last long look at the pendant and then back outside. There was Harry walking up the alley towards his office. Wanting to hurry this along she ducked down towards the display and pursed her lips before sighing, “Ok. Here,” she dug into her money bag, “I’m in a hurry. I hope it’s worth it.” The money and charm switched hands and the red head pulled her hood over her vibrant hair as she ducked into the crowds.

Inside the store the owner came from the back and noticed the absence of his shops most powerfully magical item. His eyes grew large as he walked to the clerk. “Matchworth, who bought the Leap of Faith pendant?”

“A red headed witch. I think it was Mrs. Potter.”

“You did warn her about the charm, right?”

“Warn her? Sir, it’s just a pendant.” The clerk answered.

“Bloody Hell.” Mr. Portland breathed as he ran to the door in a vain attempt to find Mrs. Potter. Running back into the store he scribbled out a note and tied it to his owl’s leg. He looked at his familiar and said, “Archimedes, you have to get this counterspell to the Potter’s home as fast as your wings will carry you. It’s of the utmost importance!” The owl hooted politely and flew through the window in a blur of brown and white. “I hope it gets to them in time.”

Unfortunately the Potters were nowhere near their home. Ginny ‘kidnapped’ her husband from work and took him on a picnic in Hogsmeade. She laughed as he playfully pinched her butt as they exited Rosmerta’s with two pints of Butterbeer. “Stop that, you little pervert!” she teased.

“Aww, you know you like that!” he countered.

She dropped her voice and whispered, “If you can keep your hands off me until I tell you to… you’ll get a pleasant surprise.” She said while wiggling her eyebrows. Harry’s face lit up and his little friend came to life at the implication of what she said.

“You aren’t just winding me up are you?” he asked quietly.

“There’s only one way for you to find out.” She said saucily as she led the way to a bluff that overlooked a nearby muggle town. After a few more minutes of walking they broke into an opening in the trees. There was a blanket laid on the leeward side of the hill with all of Harry’s favorite foods. “Happy Birthday.” She said as she folded her legs under her on the blanket.

He smiled, “Well, I guess you finally got the surprise you wanted.”

“Yep, now let’s eat.” She pulled two plates from the basket and set a third to the side.

Harry looked at the scene oddly and said, “Gin, what is that for?”

Smiling she burst, “Well, I’m eating for two… again!”

“You… what…another…” Harry stopped for a second then jumped up and whooped loudly. “Another kid! Yes!” he bent forward to pick her up then jumped back like he was electrocuted. “Can I hug you, please.”

“Permission granted.” They embraced and she said, “Should have figured you wouldn’t forget your ‘other’ surprise.”

They laughed and touched each other throughout the afternoon. After the meal was finished she gently pushed him back against the blanket and purred, “I promised something to you… and now I intend to deliver.” Sliding down his body she undid his trousers and took his member in her hands. She knew that he was a bit of a voyeur and to have his dick sucked while the unknowing muggles milled about the town below would drive him insane. Ginny began by lightly licking up and down the shaft before wrapping her lips around the crown of his cock and looked into his eyes as she slowly slid her mouth down. It did not take long for him to provide her his own special dessert.

Ginny daintily dabbed at the corners of her mouth and sighed, “You taste better everytime I do that.” They lay together as husband and wife for nearly an hour until the sun began setting. With a wave of his wand the area was cleaned and he prepared to apparate home when she stopped him. “There’s one more thing.” She pulled the box out of her pocket. “Here.”

Harry opened it and his face broke into a smile, “Thanks! I love it.” He looked up to her as he put it around his neck. Harry clasped the chain, in his hand and smiled at his wife. When he let the charm fall to his chest he felt the familiar tug of a portkey.
