They say that the higher you climb, the farther you fall. But who can fall farther than I? Others have risen higher than me, in glory and strength, yet they have not fallen so far or so hard as I have. I have neither strength nor glory, and if I ever had such, none now remember it. They know only the disgrace, the treachery, and they lay curses over my name. Let them. With wrong, I have undone all right. If I climb a little higher, it may be I will fall farther. But at least I will fall faster.
