i have no idea, into this Dresden universe.. so i am a little lost, though no less excited, the story seems fun, though i probably am still missing out a huge amount by not know what power of summer is, or the queen for that matter...
good readign otherwise... congratsAuthor's response
Yeah, you probably should do some googling...or read the books, because otherwise you are ging to miss all subleties.
Hmm... Summer is one of the two Faerie Courts, and Aurora is not called 'the Queen' - that's her mother. Each Court has three queens, and Aurora is the least queen of Summer, usually called the Summer Lady.
Thanks for reading!Beyond Grave Peril

An excellent story! You weren't kidding when you said Harry was going to be fighting the odds. He already owes two favors to the Summer, and he has made an enemy out of Dresden, and we barely got started.
Your writing style itself is pretty goood, and it's fun to read. You seem to have Harry's (Potter) character down pretty well, albeit he is slightly overpowered. The best characterization has to be of Aurora's though. In the few lines she did have last chapter, you have her character down perfectly.
I eagerly anticipate what you do with this, so far, great story.
A few questions though, without giving too much of the plot away: Can you tell which Dresdenverse characters Potter will encounter? Perhaps Elaine, as she is involved with Summer.
And last... Is there a pairing in this?Beyond Grave Peril

Damn, this is some really good stuff! Poor Harry, already making a bad impression on Dresden, and he just arrived. And owing the Summer Court not one, but two favors... I suspect he's going to regret ever seeing the Summer Lady. Though, if he keeps the power he gained from the Summer Well, he just might be able to wrestle himself from the Summer Lady's control, even with those 'geas' in place. He did snap out of the Imperious at, what, fourteen?
About Harry's power-level... After fighting for so long, he's bound to pick up more than just one trick, and he IS prophesied to be Voldemorts equal, so it is not very surprising. And, in a time of war, normal morals and ethics tend to not apply, so Harry knowing heavy duty combat magic is not strange at all, in my opinion.
He does have plenty of power to throw around, just look at his anti-one-hundred-dementors Patronus!
And with the dazzling and scintillating display of powerful magic shown by Dumbledore and Voldemort in the latest movie, I don't doubt your descriptions of magic at all.
Just hope Harry's got a freaky Animagus form, like a dragon, a Nundu (giant cat with a breath containing all the diseases in the world and requires a hundred wizards to subdue) or a basilisk or something similar, just further set the belief that he's an Outer Lord of the Darkness or whatever the heck they think he is into the heads of the Dresdenverse characters.
Maybe he was changed by the travel and now really is more than just human...
Time will tell, I suppose.
Keep up the incredibly good work!!!Beyond Grave Peril

huh, well i suppose its a little better that he's tied with the summer over the winter court. though i guess he would be more susceptible to their hidden manipulations over winters overt ones.Beyond Grave Peril

Like one of the other reviewers I'm not familiar with the Dresden universe, but this story has made me eager to at least look at the books.
Admitting my ignorance of Dresden, what is the effect of Harry destroying that man's baton/wand? Are they hard to replace or do they contain some of that man's magical power, or does he simply go to the nearest magic wand store for a replacement?
Will Harry's picture or description be listed on the most wanted list? What was that wizard's authority for drawing a gun, lethal force, on Harry? Was he in law enforcement?
So many questions, so little reading time.
Author's response
DF wizards make their own foci, and they hold no special significance; they can be replaced very easily.
Harry Dresden (the wizard) is a wizard of the White Council and so he technically is a member of law enforcement.
Oh, and what HP did is not nearly enough to get him the most wanted list. It, however, is enough to get him on the kill-on-sight list. The White Council is a pretty funny organisation...
