"Can I see?" a voice suddenly spoke from the corner.
"Of course my dear!" a woman's gentle voice responded.
Uncertainty overcome, five-year-old Boromir emerged from the shadows and made his way towards the bed where his mother lay, a bundle in her arms. He climbed onto the blankets and sat next to his mother.
"This is your new brother Faramir," Finduilas said, smiling happily.
Boromir stared at the infant his mother held, observing the newborn's grey eyes and fuzzy head. For a long moment, he said nothing.
Finally, Boromir remarked, "I don't see what's so special about him. He's pink."
