Sorry it's been so long since the last update. Please, review, and maybe the next update won't take so long.(:

The ringing doorbell bell made me jump, sending Gerard to the floor beneath the couch. I peared over the edge, my hair matted to my face as I giggled. "You okay?"

Gerard groaned, picking himself off the rug, his eyes wide in shock. "Blair, don't ask questions. Just go upstairs and be very quiet. I'll explain in a few minutes," he said, staring at the door. His behavior confused me. Why would he want me to hide?

"Is something wrong?" I asked, climbing up slowly off the couch, reaching for my clothes. I didn't want whoever was at the door seeing me standing there completely naked. Gerard mimicked my actions, throwing his shirt over his head and sliding on his boxers.

His eyes were fully of worry as he replied, "Please, Blair. I promise to tell you soon, but I can't right now. Just go upstairs." Gerard bit his lip, walking slowly to the door as he motioned towards the stairs, which were across the room, halfway in the kitchen. I nodded in response, making my way towards them.

When Gerard's back was turned, I headed for the kitchen instead of the stairs, ducking low underneath the counters. I listened as the door opened and Gerard greeted someone, "Hey, what are you doing here? I told you I've got work to do."

"Gerard, you never work on the weekends," a woman's voice caught me off guard. Who in the hell? I peaked over the side of the counter, staying low so I wouldn't be seen snooping. A woman stood in the doorway, her dark blonde hair spilling over her shoulders, one hand placed over her hip, showing she wasn't too happy at the moment. She looked very familiar, but I couldn't quite remember where I had seen her before.

Gerard sighed, rubbing his temples, "I know, I know," he said, "but I got behind a little this week on a few things. I'll be home in a few hours, so could you please not make a big deal out of this?" Home? I ducked back behind the counter, sliding my pants over my hips quietly, my blood pressure rising. I realized now why he was so eager for me to hide.

"My sister is coming over for dinner tonight, Gerard. I need you to help me around the house. It's a mess and I still have to cook," she said, her voice slightly higher than it had been.
I listened quietly as I tried to figure out who she was. "Damn it, Jade. You didn't tell me she was coming over and you know I don't like that bitch. I know she's your sister, but she's such a bitch." Gerard complained.

"Like I'm crazy about your entire family," Jade replied. "She doesn't come over that often, so just play nice for one night." I sighed, getting extremely impatient that this was taking so long. I was half tempted to jump out and scream 'Surprise!', but I stayed still and quiet, hoping for this to end soon so that I could confront Gerard.

"I'll try," Gerard said, "but just give me and hour, and I'll be home, okay?" He sounded a little defeated, obviously not wanting a fight. When I heard the front door shut, I glanced back around to see they were outside, Gerard walking her to her car.

I took the opportunity to run upstairs, running as fast as my feet would carry me. When I reached the top of the stairs, I headed for the first room I saw, which happened to be his bedroom. Sitting down on the edge of the bed, I propped my head in my hands and waited for Gerard to return.

The front door opened and closed moments later, and I heard Gerard's footsteps coming up the stairs towards me. I groaned, my nerves getting the better of me. I was never good at confrontation, but there was no way I was letting this slide.

"Blair?" Gerard called out before opening his bedroom door and finding me. "Hey," he said, a nervous smile on his face. I forced myself to return the smile, hoping he would tell me the truth instead of me having to tell him I already knew.

He sat down beside me, taking my hand in his. I nearly jerked it away but remained still, not making eye contact with him. "There's something you should know," Gerard said, rubbing my hand slowly. "Before I tell you, I want you to know that I didn't intend to keep it from you, but I just didn't know exactly how to tell you."

I shifted around uncomfortably, chewing on my lower lip, "What is it?" I asked, finally looking him in the eyes. He brought his hand up to my face, stroking my cheek softly, making me shiver and almost forget what I had over heard. I pulled back, watching him and waiting for him to speak.

"I'm engaged," he told me, his hand gripping mine tighter, as I tried to pull away from him. His eyes were full of panic as I pushed him off of me and jumped off the bed.

I felt like I was about to throw up as I screamed at him, "You're what?" I snapped, though I had pretty much figured as much already. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Gerard sat still, his eyes fixated on the carpet beneath his feet."I don't know, okay! I didn't know how to tell you. All I knew was I wanted you and I didn't think telling you that would exactly be the best icebreaker," he responded, adjusting his gaze on me. "I know I should have told you, but I didn't know how to."

"That's no excuse! I'm not some home-wrecking whore, you know. You had no right to just use me like that! Damn you, Gerard." Anger took over and tears formed in my eyes. "You, you had no right." I shook my head, my hands in fists at my sides.

He stood up and tried to embrace me as he spoke, "Blair, I didn't mean to hurt you. I wasn't using you. I really care about you."

I pushed him away from me, "You're so full of shit. Just take me back to campus. I don't even want to look at you right now." I walked out of the room as he followed me, still trying to console me.

"Blair, please talk to me," he said, his hand brushing against mine. I swatted it away, not looking at him as I headed down the steps, tears now falling down my pale cheeks. There wasn't anything to say.
