“Maria?” someone whispered to me as I made a grumpy moan then turned over so that the person would have to let go of me.

“Maria, you need to wake up, we have to go. Now.” He was now picking me off of the bed when I finally opened my eyes and gave him a rude glare.

“Screw off Darien.” I whispered under my breath.

I felt his body freeze after what I said. The he slowly let me down to my feet so that I could walk behind him

‘Shit, I really didn’t mean to say that!’ I thought to myself.

“Darien…” I waited for him to turn and look at me, when he didn’t I reached out and grabbed his arm to stop him. Instead of stopping he pulled his arm from my grasp and caused me to hiss in pain as I felt my arm crack from my shoulder to my elbow.

As soon as he herd my hiss he stopped and turned around to see me holding my shoulder and looking at the ground.

“Maria?” he whispered just audible for me.

“I need to go to the bathroom before we leave.” I turned and started to walk into the bathroom. Once I had entered and closed the door behind me, I slid to the ground wile holding my shoulder that was now throbbing in pain.

‘What the hell was that, I can understand that he’s mad at me but he didn’t have to be so aggressive?’ I got up from the ground and moved to look into the mirror: the same beautiful girl from earlier today showed as my reflection.

‘Grandma used to say how much I looked like mom… I guess that’s all changed no-‘before I could finish my thought, I felt a strong arm move around my waist, pinning my arms to my sides. I tried to scream but before any sound left my mouth a cloth went up to cover it. The smell making my head spin. With one final attempt to free myself I kicked the cabinet that stood in front of me making some unknown items fall off and onto the floor, a loud crack sounded threw our hotel room and I could hear Darien start to walk over to the door.

I threw my head back to hit the person that was holding me in such a tight embrace but missed and instead go a knee in the back that made me throw myself forward to try and ease the pain that ran threw my spin.

‘Darien, please come help me!’

“Maria, is everything alright?”

I screamed into the cloth that covered my mouth just loud enough for him to hear my scream for help.

The last thing I herd was Darien throwing himself into the locked door and the man behind me laughing and clutching his arms around my waist so tight that I couldn’t breath. Everything went black and I was pulled into a deep sleep that I never wanted to return from. Fearing that if I did then I would have to face the world my grandmother told me I was to live, fearing that I wouldn’t be strong enough to save my friends and family. I didn’t want to have to be the one to let them down: yet the gods had a very pretty séance of humor.

I was leaning against the wall in my enclosed room. My breath coming out hitched and strained like I had been running a marathon. My heart was pounding against my chest so loud that I could hear it in my ears.

‘What’s going on with me?’ my thoughts were distracted by the flash of silver under the bed that I had first awoken in.

I crawled across the ground to reach towards my prize, my hand slowly reached out to grab it when I pulled it back at the touch of a warm liquid.

I didn’t even bother to look at my hand because I had just herd the sound of someone walking down the hallway towards the door. I got up and ran as fast as my legs would carry me towards the locked door. When I got there a man spoke to me.

“Maria, have you done it?”
“What are you talking about, done what?” I dropped onto my knees so that I could see the person’s feet.

“Have you killed him?”

“KILLED WHO?” my head was pounding and my throat squeezed close making it hard to breath. ‘What was he talking about, I would never even think about killing someone!’

“Darien.” Was all the man said before he started to walk away from the door. I screamed at him to stop and come back but he just kept walking down the hall laughing.

I turned around and ran over to the bed then dropped down onto my stomach so that I could reach under the bed and pull out the silver item. I had to put my hand over my mouth to muffle a scream of horror as I looked at the knife laying in my hand, its blade dripping with the scarlet red liquid.

‘What the hell is this!’ I threw the knife across the room were I waited for the sound of the knife hitting the floor but it never came, instead there was a sound of metal hitting skin causing a big slap. I walked over to the left side of the bed to find some ones body laying on the ground. I slowly turned the body over so that I could see the persons face before I even looked at the person I could feel hot tears rolling down my cheek. I finally looked into his eyes a loud sob escaped my mouth and I dropped my head down onto his chest bawling my eyes out.

‘Darien, who did this to you? was it me… did I kill you?’ the hot tears were rolling down my face like a waterfall, no matter who much I tried to stop myself from crying, the tears just kept coming.

I leaned down towards his dead face and placed a small kiss on his cheek, I looked down into his dead eyes and felt another sob escape my lips, I pulled away at the sound of the door unlocking then it slowly creaking open. When I turned to see who it was my heart stopped and I screamed a blood curtailing scream then started to crawl away: to the closest corner that I could find. I then covered my face with my hands so that the mans fiery stair wouldn’t burn threw my eyes.

I swear I had never seen this man before yet I had a strong erg to be afraid of the man, I couldn’t help but take a quick look into his fiery eyes and found a small piece of lust and pain. It was like this man had known me all his life and I him, I felt so close to him but at the same time I feared him. Why?

His name popped into my head like a dagger ‘Dan.’
