Saff finished college at half two. She went back to the flat. Her roommate, Jade, wasn’t home yet but Saffy didn’t really expect her to be, she had a job. She flicked the kettle on and took a mug from the cupboard, making herself a cup of tea before starting her coursework.
“Saff?” that was Jade. Saffy looked at her phone, it was already quarter to seven. That meant Jade had most likely been to her parents.
“In here” she called back from her bedroom. A few seconds later, the door opened and Jade poked her head in,
“hey, i went shopping, i got some Ben and Jerrys” Saff smiled,
“thanks” Jade stepped in slowly,
“how was college today?” she asked cautiously, Saff shrugged and nodded, moving papers around,
“it was alright” Jade sat down on the edge of the bed,
“did you see Ash?…” Saff shook her head silently,
“nope… I saw his mate”
“Dru?” another shake of the head, “Stefan?” she nodded,
“yep.” Jade drew circles on the bedsheets,
“did he say anything?” she asked after a few seconds, Saff shook her head.
“No. He invited me to a party tonight” Jade looked up, eyebrows raised,
“and are you going?” Saff met her eyes and broke out into a smile, chuckling slightly,
“no, of course not” Jade smiled,
“fair enough. Well, i’ll let you get on with your work” Saff nodded and Jade left the bedroom.
With a sigh, Saffy stood up and closed her bedrooms curtains before sitting back down. She sat on her phone, accidently pressing buttons. Twenty to ten. She bit her lip and looked at the full length mirror on the wall in front of her then shook her head,
“you’d have to be dumb Safina” not that telling herself that stopped her.
“Where are you going?” Jade asked when Saff walked down the hallway in a black vest, dark skinny jeans and black Doc Martens.
“To the party” she replied, grabbing a girly leather jacket.
