Harry seems a lot harder than in canon. Hermione is just as determined as always, and the ministry is still comprised of self-seeking fools. As Harry said in 'Like a song you can't unlearn' "Government is a necessary evil, but remember no matter how necessary, it is still evil."
Harry deals with the goblins in a very goblin manner (following their rules and customs, not those of the wizards). I think that will go a long way in healing the breach between the two peoples.
I second Jiltanith's plea. Harry and Barbi-Sue really don't go together, despite what JKR says.
