I'd say for Emily's age, maybe 19 would be best. And I agree with you on the name change - my name's Emily also and I keep imagining it's me with Frank, and that is one fucking creepy thought.
How about for the main character ummm, Nia, Liana, Elsie, Jessie I dunno. I pesonally think it should be a name not often heard, like unique or whatever.
