There's a bunch of details i could bitch about, but i won't. You'll get it right in the many, many upcoming chapters i hope you'll write.
You made some nice moves to get the story going, and he might be able to teach his cousin a few tricks. He did have a lot more info dumped into his brain than little Kal has.
