Like Some Song You Can't Unlearn

(#) Alorkin 2008-04-02

You updated! Yaaayyyy!!!

A very fast paced chapter. Luna was a nice twist, as was Harry's insistence she stay here, and not go elsewhere.

The battle between Harry and Blinky was fast and furious. Each move could have ended in disaster, but fortunately for Harry, they didn't. What the hell was wrong with those bloody chickens?

Now that the battle is done, Harry has to contend with Ginny/Riddle. This promises to be a strange battle. Ginny, in actual possession of the diary, will likely have a better grasp of dueling. Even with his skill and experience, Harry will be hard pressed to deal with him/her. He doesn't want to hurt her and Riddle most definitely does want to hurt him.

As always, I eagerly await the next chapter of 'Like Some Old Song...' Alorkin

Author's response

Yes, the typical portrayals of Luna are either as a Seer who truly does see things that no one else can, or an exceptionally clever witch who intentionally uses the dreamy approach to fend off people. I picture more as a dreamy girl forced to be even more detached by the cruelty of others. It is a coping mechanism but not a deliberate one.

And sorry but Ginny and Harry won't be dueling. This actually becomes a turning point for Harry and his dealing with the people from his past world. It started with Hermione and comes to fruition here. They aren't his enemies, they are his students. The old world is gone and he needs to make a life for himself here and not waste it getting revenge for how he was treated there.
