Dan and Emma are common fanon names, If I recall first used by Either Kinsfire or maybe it was Bobmin Dan and Emma are obvious references to the actors..
Dan as Ex -SAS is becoming a cliche, albeit a good one if written well.
Moody as Knife Fighter.. See Fairbourne fighting technique, I have a link somewhere..
The use of guns in the magical world is looked down upon in some stories, and in others, is the prime element in the story, in fact in one of my stories as well. "Sniper" by dobbyelflord comes readily to mind..

I've read both Kinsfire's and Bobmin's stuff. I believe both have used it.
I did say in the summary of year 5 that some things are obviously ideas from other fics.
Yes, the Ex-SAS thing is becoming cliche, these days. Although when I came up with this story, it was before everyone and his brother started using it.
