It's hard to help without making ti totallt cliche. I mean self-harm is over rated, rape is just, ugh, um... suicide is waaaayy over done etc.
You need to think of something really unique. Like take your own life experiences and maybe change them around and work them in. Usually that's what works best because it's what you know; what you've experienced before. It makes everything so much easier to write because you've been through it, so you can provide an accurate perspective. That's what I try and do anyways. The more personal the story is, usually, the better and the more fun/pain you'll have writing it. Pain is only when it was painful for you, and re-telling it might help. I don't know but this is your story and I'll do all I can to help. If you wanna e-mail me you can. It's on my profile. I'm always here to help really. [No really, it's like a disease.]
So yeah. Just let your mind run wild with it and don't be afraid to cross the boundaries. It's what makes good story [I know from experience.]

Thanks. I was planning on doing that, but, ugh. I have/had a lot of problems. I'll take a while trying to think, but seeing as I am the energizer bunny-ninja, I am definitely awake enough hours out of the day to think about it.
I must say, though, that weaving some of my personal experiences would not only make for a better story because I can relate to it, but will help me get over this problem I have.
