"The bruises can always heal... But my heart never can." Seemed rather melodramatic/sentimental coming from Dani. Despite being one of those broken/fierce characters people just love to write, she seems ... Bleh, I'm not sure how to say, but it just doesn't sound right. Whatever.
I can empathize with her situation - the not liking to let people in part, anyways. Not the domestic abuse part. Not sure if someone who isn't like that would understand her... but again, whatever.
