Holly Evans and the Spiral Path

This is definitely one of the stories that I check regularly. Your darker (more realistic) view of the magical world plus the way Holly and Hermione are actually working at improving themselves are very intriguing. I also enjoy the way you write the story as a journal.

I am interested in seeing how Holly will handle her financial independence, although I hope that this won’t be a case of her fault and or inheritance acting as an “Ever Full Purse “. (You know buy every magical thingamajig, buy those magical books that teach the long lost secrets of whatever, buy an island or three just because and still have a couple of tons of gold and gems left.)

Wanting to see how Hermione handles the revelation of Holly’s past and her additional form is a given, but I’m also curious if you will explore Dean and Luna.

Dean, given the competence he seemed to display at it, most likely compelled (or charmed if you prefer) a number of girls. Now that McGonagall doesn’t need to keep her knowledge a secret how will she act towards him?

And then there’s Luna. In the original story she was bullied. How heavily depends upon how you read it and what you believe the children would have been able to get away with. (And children as a group lack empathy and are often cruel when dealing with an outsider.) In this reality where rape and magical coercion doesn’t seem to be uncommon even among the schoolchildren what could have happened, how could it have affected her and why is she interested in Holly? (And where will it lead?)

Until your next chapter, thanks to you and anticipation for me.

Author's response

Thanks for reading and reviewing! I hope to touch on all the folks that are impacted as secrets are revealed, but just because Holly knows Minerva has been reading doesn't mean Holly's experiences can be taken as testimony. This was the same problem with Penny.
Luna is loony in here but reacts to it differently than in canon. Of all the characters I've changed, she has darkened the most, save one.
Just a teaser- even the goblins are darker. What makes you think they'll give Harry anything?
