Back in the day...

A lesson in American schooling

14-15 is freshman year, 9th grade
15-16 is sophomore year, 10th grade
17-18 is Junior year, 11th grade
18-19(ish) is senior year, 12th grade

You generally turn 18 in your senior year, but the chart is confusing, I know. You spend most of your time being the first number, I believe. I'm not to sure, I haven't properly been to high school yet. But I am American. Heh. And people do get held back, needing only a few credits and such. I'd also like to tell you that exclusion doesn't exist in America. You are either expelled, suspended or given detention. In school suspensions are rare but do exist. Ha I know weirdness like this, being American and all. XP

Author's response

Okaaaay - so my story is really wrong! No, thanks for telling me - now I can correct and with any luck, won't make the same mistake again.
