I'm enjoying how you're incorporating the other characters, even the name of the ship is a touching detail.
"Lulu had declared some time ago that it was a good thing that he had married a saint." Hah!
Tidus and Yuna's intimate interaction is exactly right, and you even manage to make him boyishly sexy in it. Yuna's galvanized attitude is exactly right and handled here with better care than in X-2. It makes sense/, how she itches for guns /and (nice touch!) targets.
Rikku is...Rikku, of course and I enjoyed how she announces their course /unnecessarily/, because that is exactly what she does.
Author's response
Whee! I so appreciate reviews -- and knowing this is holding people's interest, even when I'm being rather self-indulgent in my favorite clichés. Yuna had so much steel in FFX that, while I could imagine her saying "to heck with duty, I'm going to live for myself for a while, High Summoner Yuna is NOT answering calls!" I couldn't imagine her relinquishing her glimmerings of being independent and leader-like. In some ways, this story is really set in the FFX universe with some of the key events of X-2 incorporated, so that I'm not dealing with dresspheres, bubblegum girl power, etc.
