I don't think this is as unrealistic as you're making out. Don't stress about it, just go with it. After all, Frank and Gerard have known each other for years, have both been married and divorced and are both supposedly straight. They're going to be a little awkward about announcing their feelings to the world. ;)
Trust me, you're doing a great job! I can't wait to read more! :D
