I have no idea what to tell you. I'm sorry it's such a shit situation, but I wouldn't know what to do.
If you can explain to the shelter what's going on with Liam, hopefully they won't be dicks and they'll understand. If not, well.
If CPS is involved, they need to know that you might not be entirely safe if you live with Liam. That's a given- safety should come first (wow how cliche). However that would narrow down their options, and you might get sent to a foster home or something....
I would look for other friends/relatives who aren't disgustingly narrow minded if possible. If not possible, then shit.
