The accent thing is greatness. I love how Americans pronounce stuff too. I´m Austrian, by the way. And I always have to tell people that we do not have kangaroos here.
Back to your story though: Still very entertaining read, very funny. I´m totally into the narrator´s way of... narrating. I kinda do the same style on "The Bass Files" (shameless self-promotion, part II). Carry on, mate, and make ficwad proud. We´re very supportive of gifted writers like yourself. And also of mediocre writers trying to fool others into believing they´re gifted like moi. ;)
