I think a fic that gives insight into Kuja's pre-game past, especially his connection to Alexandria, is a good idea, but this doesn't really capture the Kuja we know from the game. Kuja's a manipulative, flamboyant narcissist who I can only imagine reveling in castle formality and luxury, not privately resenting it. If he doesn't like people like Garnet staring at him, why does he wear makeup and dress the way he does? If the idea is to show Kuja as a prettyboy victim, this isn't clearly portrayed here.
