okay, maybe it's because i'm retarded and/or trying to apply make-up and read at the same time, but i was confused by this whole "footnote" the chapter thing. was it that every time we see the (in any amount, whether it be * or *) we refer back to the first , or is it that the whole chapter = "Reader, the shit hit the fan this time"?
i actually listened to Of All The Gin Joints while reading that, and all i could picture was Patrick. but i'm stump-crazy, so maybe that could be the reason.
"i shit you not" comes in handy a lot more than one would think. like take the following example:
ex. 1.)
Chief: "Crystal, are you using AIM Express at work?"
Me: "No. The fucking thing keeps dying."
Chief: "Really?"
Me: "I shit you not."
actually, the above dialog never really took place, but he did ask me if i was using an instant messenger.
and to completely change the subject – why would andy want to use a drum stick for that? being a drummer, he has hands on experience with those things, and for the most part they seem a little bit...rough. and as a reader i was expecting him to pull out another bag o' goodies. but that's just me.
And to completely change the subject again - do you know what it means when Katy leaves the ("O) thing? I am completely baffled by it.

Well, basically the whole chapter = the shit hitting the fan (Andy & Sheena fight, Patrick & Joyce trouble). So the firt footnote () and with it the entire chapter that follows the refers to "Reader, the shit it the fan this time.*" Ah, you´re not Stump-CRAZY, silly. You´re Stump-... yeah, what is it?... Huh, huh.... Stump-STRANGE! (75098) Yes. Can´t say I´m surprised you should use "I shit you not." a lot. ;) And I love your use of the English language, btw. I have a serious linguistic crush on you. It is just you. :P I think ("o) means she´s surprised or dumbfounded or something to that extent. But that´s just a guesstimate. Talk to her on AIM. I think our friend´s still on kind of a downer. :(
