Near Morning

Gerard is so wonderfully human in this story, and even though the infamous teen in me wants to dislike Logan, it's hard. And it should be, because -again- I don't think there's specific bad guys and good guys in life, we're all a bit of both and that's what makes us real. In fiction it's so easy to fall into that pattern of categorizing people as either the ones we cheer for, our heroes and objects of our sympathy and then the ones that mostly resemble villains, guys who enter the scene to ruin what we had planned out in our little heads. I love that you're braking that pattern, and making the teenage Ninane question herself and open my mind again to what I already know is real. It would just be so much easier to love the first guy and hate the other, as a reader, but often the things that are the easiest to read never stick with you and you simply forget the story the next day. Good job on the chapter, I truly admire your work!!

Author's response

I'm so glad you're enjoying this as it's going along and I thought to make Gerard as Gerard as possible. I've never twitter stalked so hard just to get a better sense of him. I really want to make Logan a good guy but people are already telling me that he's pulling red flags when I hadn't even put them in there (WHOOPS!). By the way he spoke during his interview he has a lot of charm and he talks very rapidly. So I tried to catch that dynamic, now I have to really buff him around the edges to make him the good guy wipes sweat off of head

Thanks again for reviewing!!!
