I'm... not quite sure what was going on here. Did I miss an AU warning? It was a good story, well executed, but the only thing Bleach about it was the names and basic personalities.
It would have made a better, say, GetBackers story, or even an original. I like AUs, but this wasn't long enough to even begin to justify the changes. By the time I figured out that I wasn't supposed to be fitting this into the context of the Bleach universe I know, the story was half over.
