A nice twist to both the meeting in the Hogs Head, and the trial's aftermath. Daphne is still an undecided, as was Blaize, until book sux came out. Nott's father was named as a DE in book four, so he likly will have a great many problems if he should decide not to join Voldmort's group.
I liked your explanation. It makes sense. Voldemrt wouldn't care if his DE's served willingly, as long as they served. His mark would ensure that.
As for the 'ship', I am dedicatd to the idea of Harry and hermione. She provides the grounding he needs, and he gives her the 'spark' she lacks. Together, the make an unstoppable team. Cho is a 'temp' Yes, she's pretty, but every interaction they have had ends in anger and tears. Not good for a relationship (unless you are Ralph and Alice Kramden!)
I have often wondered why Dumbles could make prefects of such definately pro-Voldy students as Malfoy and Parkinson.
Your initial synopsis showing Dumbles as 'ends-justifies-the-means' type of person, is borne out in most of canon.
I have placed this on my 'alerts' list and eagerly await the next page of

Thanks for your review, it was very helpful - the remark about every interview with Cho ending in tears had eluded me. Without spoiling the story, I have plans for Daphne's parents and Nott Sr. in my story. As you mentioned, he will not be happy if his son does not take the mark, and I will be dealing with it in future Chapters.
It seemed funny that Voldemort loves crucio-ing people and yet the Death Eaters love serving him. At some level, I think most Death Eaters were happy when Voldemort was disembodied. I will be having a more realistic Voldemort - one who controls his followers with a carrot-and-stick policy.
As for the ship, I have plans for both Cho and Hermione in my story. I will leave the poll open for the next two weeks, or until I am at Chapter 5 (whichever is later) and then decide about the ship. JKR's Cho seemed to have a bit of inconsistency, and in any case, Cho standing up for Marietta actually impressed me.
Thanks for reading and reviewing.
