I really liked this story; it's quite a nice take on all the goth kids Jack and Sally seem to breed.
One thing confused me, though: "Jack rubbed at the spot with his sleeve. With any luck, it hadn't affected the polish." Did you mean Timothy, or is my brain just not working?
