As a cross over story i realy had a hard time accpepting this. As as fan of both shows I could not accept them together even with the greatest stretch of emagination. However, if you stick with Just SG-1 fanfiction I bet you could do a realy great job at it.

It's funny that you should think I could do well in the SG-1 fandom, because it's the fandom I'm least familiar with in this crossover. I've relied extensively on betas and research to keep everything functioning well. I suppose that I should compliment my betas, then.
I'd be interested in finding out why you had trouble meshing these two shows toghether. Was it something in the characterisation? The technology? The timelines?
I personally was of the opinion that various technologies as used on either show could very well pop up in the other universe, and indeed this is partially what I based my fic on; that the Stargates break into the same vortex that the TARDIS does, only they connect together places only in real time unless there is some sort of a malfunction.
I'd be interested in more specifics on your opinion.
