...so I guess you don't like Ash much? ^^; I think you go a bit overboard here. I think the idea of Pikachu, coveted by others and at more of a cost than we know, could be done easily with what we have in canon, without suggesting that in addition, outside of what we see on the show, Ash is a really harsh trainer. And the bit about pokedexes and cheating doesn't have anything to do with the main subject and just seems like you can't pass up any chance to make Ash look bad.

Ash is actually one of my favorite characters. But I wanted to show that there was more to him than how the show portrays him. Again, this was an attempt to show the darker side to Ash.
