I really, really like how you write Rikku, and that she is comforted by the workings of machina.
I really, really like the idea that Gippal had gone missing after joining the Crusaders. People don’t explore the Al Bhed’s aspect of it very often. And I especially like that it’s Gippal who has gone missing…I haven’t played X-2 completely enough to know if that is canon, but if it isn’t, that is a genius connection to give them.
Little nitpickles:
“join the Crusader a year ago” probably should be “join the Crusaders a year ago”
“comforting and yet hurting.” Rather than “hurting”, a better word here might be “painful’ or “hurtful”.

She is an Al Bhed, she grew up with machina so I just assume it should be like a silent friend to her.
If you have reached the Den of woes in X-2, maybe you would see how I assumed he had went missing after joining the Crusaders. Of course another fact was it might have served as some sort of motivation for the girl to keep travelling around Spira.
