Your Zen Is False
(#) BicycleSighs 2008-08-16
I cannot believe that there are not more reviews for all of your chapters. I cannot believe that this fic is over.
And, over all, I cannot believe that fools dare to rate some of your stories with nonsense drivel such as 'trainwreck' or 'boring' or 'illiterate'. You're so very lucky that you have thirty seven or so other stories for me to read, beginning now.
My favourite line from you isn't even of this story, and it isn't even really a 'line' per se, but I would just like to point out that for some rather unknown reason, the bit of '...as we dance around the pyre...hm hmm hm...' from your Annientamento story with Bella/Sirius (which, by the by, I did absolutely not see as 'smut', but something much more beneath the surface face of it, bubbling just under, unbroken because of Bella's staggering insanity and Sirius' true-to-real-story-life possibilities within his dilemma), that line drove me absolutely stark raving mad, and I keep returning to it even now to read it over and over as I refuse to copy and paste your stories without your permission. Coupled with the fact that it was both one of your leading lines and your closing line, well, you topped off your hat there.
Your writing style is flawless, even in the face of the fact that the parts in your stories in which you break off with parentheses halfway into a sentence, and mostly numerous times within the same sentence, are or were a touch derailing, but as soon as I got more into the flow of your hand, it was a rather refreshing look at things.
I would most likely, if you would so choose to indulge yourself within, take hours upon hours reading and re reading any story that had a personal mark upon it. I suppose what I am attempting to say here, or rather, ask unabashed, is if you would so be deeply inclined to honour my wishes of a story.
My three personal favourites in this world are Bellatrix, Luna, and Tonks, three characters whom tend to be overlooked in fics, or mostly pushed off as secondary characters.
Bella just seems, if nothing else, though she is much more, that she would come off as the ideal female, in any case.
And, if I may say so, a story in which her story, or a story, was told from her point of view, would be rather interesting. Perhaps her being in school in Harry's time. Perhaps there not even being Voldemort. Perhaps Harry and Bella going down the dark path together, and the less reputable characters in the Potterverse being picked off with a bit of sadistic torture thrown in, and all sorts of goodies.
Or, perhaps, I will get to my next point, and say that since those ideas came to play from my fingers, if I may so indulge them in my own story. I have never thought about writing a fic before, though I pride myself on being a rather notched writer, and after reading a rather large handful of your stories, I would have to say that I am quite inspired, to understate it fiercely.
Therefore, I will begin writing a fic, and with your honours, it will be for you.
Deary me, I do tend to have a problem with dragging on and on, do I not. Possibly why my books take forever to finish, when a sentence becomes a page and a half, and a chapter becomes a tome.
Either way, I want to end on a rather lackluster note, since I am positive that I have not made much coherent sense in this spurt and do not wish to continue making a prat of myself, fluent as it may be, and just merely state that I have a newfound and rather deeply rooted appreciate for you and your writing.
Post Script: There is a fic on this site, and posted on a few others, that I believe that you may enjoy, entitled Harry Potter and the Witches Secret. I cannot remember the link for the life of me, and I am much too worn from reading you stories, diligent as I may be to continue, to find it, but it shan't be too difficult with a few typed words and the click of a mouse. I believe the fic has two or three sequels as well, each just as and more than indulging as the last.
And may I also add, as an afterthought, I rather enjoy and applaud your inherent indulgence of homosexual/femmeslash (I believe it is called, I am nowhere familiar with fic-language) situations and character developments.
An observation and appreciation, all in the same.
I would have sent all of this in a messgae of some sort, but I began posting right after reading YZIS, and got a touch carried away.
Now, I really should stop before this turns out to be lengthier than some of the damn stories I've seen on here.
Fare thee well.Author's response
I actually got a good amount of reviews at FFNet for this fic. grins I don't know what's up with this site, really. It's why I don't post here anymore. shrugs I write for feedback, and if all anyone does is derate my works and not explain why, then I'm going to assume that they have nothing to offer except close-mindedness and that they aren't worth my time.
And I love that you really looked at Annientamento. XD I try to keep things a little bit canonical. You can save a copy of my stories if you like, as long as you don't claim credit or try to post them somewhere else without my permission. Wow, you keep making me blush. I think you're my favorite reviewer now. ^-^
It's meant to be a sort of mental style, I think. I messed around with it, had some fun. It's modeled after thought patterns, and sometimes you don't allow yourself to really think. You cut them off or try to explain, only explanations aren't the same as seeing and so you show. Remember. Gah. I'm not explaining very well. Anyway, I'm glad you managed to enjoy it. It's too bad that you're in the HP fandom. I've got a Naruto story that you'd probably like. Ah well.
Definitely write! We always need more literate fics in the fandom. PLEASE. And in my honor? grins fiercely I love it when I get stories. bounces Do you still want me to write one for you?
You're not making a prat of yourself, dear. And I do think you have a rather nice style yourself, just by reading your reviews. It's rather antique Brit. Spiceh. grins
I shall check out the story when I have a chance. Sadly, it is five twenty in the morning over here and I must sleep. I'm going out of town until Tuesday and I don't know if I'll get computer access, so don't be offended if I don't get a chance to reply until then.
Question: do you not read fanfiction often? You said that you're unfamiliar with the slang.
And as for the femmeslash? I'm a lesbian, dear. I do tend to indulge. ^_-Your Zen Is False

Here I am doing it again. But I came back to see exactly how lengthy my post had been since this thin little box doesn't give a good gauge, and let me just say I choked out a good laugh.Author's response
snickerfits It is somewhat lengthy. I think I've had longer, though. ^-^ IWCT has a penchant for long reviews as well. DEFINITELY not a bad thing, just so you know. Feedback is my chosen deity.Your Zen Is False

Well then I supremely believe that you have thusly convinved me to go join FFNet. You are more than justified to that, and probably, or more certainly, much more. Idiot teenagers with far too much time on their cramped-from-flaming-people-in-Youtube-comments hands should truly not be allowed to an opinion of their own fool minds. Better yet, they should most likely be isolated somewhere cold and dark. Because we all now how much teenyboppers love cold, dark places.
Yes, well, it was the first story of yours that I read, and if not for the fact that the Bella/Sirius pairing attracted me to it, I surely would have regardless, as I love the Italian language. It has been relayed to me numerous times by friends and foes alike that I have somewhat of a sadist-streak in me, and I suppose it reflects somewhat in my own writing, and reading, tastes, but my mind certainly does not solely rely on the dark. Which may be why I am so attracted to anything concerning her.
Most excellent! I am truly honoured to have your permission, and I would cut my own hands off before even thinking of taking credit for another's work, especially work that appeals so very much. Blood is always a beautiful sight, whether just skimming under the surface or flying out to meet you, full stop.
What a coincidence, because you may have become one of my favourite authors now.
Yes, I picked up on that rather quickly, and I may give ruse to the idea that the reason for which it was so very odd at first was due to the fact that it was around six in the morn and I'd not slept in a very long time. But a more wonderful state in which to be introduced to new things, I can think of not.
I tend to write some of my works in a very stream-of-consciousness form, and I believe that you may have tapped into this, as such, but in a state in which I can put neither finger nor tongue to.
You explained well enough, and I can catch the gist of it.
Well, I would not solely consider myself a part of any fandom. Literature is something that my mind, like a plague, devours, leaving no trace of survivor in its bloodstrewn wake, and I take pride in that fact. I do not latch myself onto any sort of group, in any sense of the word.
I am transient, and it applies to almost every aspect of my life. It always has. (Though, I do, for some reason, vehemently prefer the HP stories on these websites). Therefore, while I did not get a chance to read all of your stories last night before my eyes almost fell out of my head, I did get to one or two of the Naruto fics. As my mind was in a fog, I do not recall which ones they were, but I will be sure to go back and read your stories over again either way. I never really got into most of the Animes that they have out these days. Though, I did fall rather hard into its trap while living in Japan, and both Manga and Anime are now a solid portion of my preferred reading and viewing.
I most certainly will! I have written numerous amounts of papers, reams of poetry and such, and a handful of novels, but I have never taken my hand at anything as such, online. Ah yes, the problem with illiteracy here is quite rampant, and to put it rather lightly, disgusting, not to mention the other problems that one faces while searching for suitable and interesting stories. And yes! Most certainly in your honour. I mean, of course, there have been other authors on this site that I have come across that I fancy, somewhat, but none that hold my attention for too long.
I would certainly be overjoyed, ecstatique, and honoured if you were to write me a story.
Let me try my touch of an online mannerism here... grins
Pah, well, thank you for your reassurance, but as mentioned, I do tend to prattle on and on somewhat. Although, I cannot say that I see that as a negative thing. What could be seen as negative is something lacking of substance, and I cannot say that I have ever been plagued with that problem. And, why, thank you. I am much appreciated of that. Hah, that would make a touch of sense, considering the fact that I learnt to read, speak, and write English while living in England and Ireland around three years ago. It is always a special thing to have a style that stands out.
http://www.ficwad.com/author/11037 There is the link of the author who wrote it, that I was referring to, as well as the two sequels to it. It is a wonderful story, once you get into its flow, although it does drag on at parts. Oh very well.
Ah, I see, I see. Do have a pleasant trip, then! Oh course not, I am one of few who realise that there is life and other life forms past the so called comforting glow of a computer screens warming touch and icy eye.
I will gladly wait upon word from you.
Answer: Not very, no. Though, that has slowly become a thing of the past, as I have just recently fallen into a spat of a frenzy of reading these stories. I just created this account last year when I was introduced to it by a friend who was rather heavily indulged in the Fan Fic world, and could not really get into it at first.
Until realising that some of the authors on this site make me loathe the original authors for what they've taken and done with their stories, turning them into something that the original author, though having created the characters, plots, et cetera, could never have done with the stories.
Though, yes, I am quite unfamiliar with some of the slang, abbreviations, references, et cetera, though I have been quite aptly able to adapt myself to the gist of the idea behind the letters or words and figure them out on my own.
Well that is just wonderful. Too many people tend to avoid those subjects and see them as 'wrong' or 'sick' or 'taboo'. If that is honestly what they believe in their shallow minds and thick skulls, then I would like to show them what is truly wrong, sick, and taboo.
I am more than certain that they would be keeping their mouths shut after wards.
Your indulgence is a refreshing window to look into.
I myself am an oddly transcribed mixture between a pansexual and an asexual.
An odd combination, in the probable sense of the ideas behind them, impossible as well, but I need not explain my ideals or tastes to anyone other than myself, and even then, it is never necessary.
It is all based on what you feel and who you fancy, and who is anyone else to say anything against it.
Hah, I restrained myself a bit, otherwise I would have surely ended up with another hundred or so couple of paragraphs in there. Regardless, I usually find myself disliking 'reviewing' things, per se, though I love to give feedback. I believe that it is mostly because I cannot stick solely to the subject at hand, and tendrils of thought tend to slink themselves away and into other categories, which then find their own way into my conversations.
Tangents rule my mind, my mouth, and my fingers.
Oh I wholeheartedly agree. Feedback, in any form or reference, negative, positive, neutral; it all makes me feel what it should.
I do not care if someone loves or hates something that I have created, as long as it makes them feel something other than nothing.
Do you have another form of contact? I would love an easier or, rather, more convenient form of communication with you, and I would love to be able to share some of my own writing with you.Author's response
snickers I have a rant about teenyboppers on my FFNet profile. I reread it and am vastly amused by myself. ^-^
Sadist streak, eh? My family and friends tell me that I'm slightly sociopathic. grins Which I may possibly be. Just a tad. It's not like I can help it...
I used to be really into anime and manga. I clawed my way out of the black hole, but I still like to write in the fandoms, even though I don't follow them anymore. There's just so much you can do with the ninja lifestyle - Naruto - that I really can't help it. The show doesn't go into it, but there's so much twisted potential. XD
I applaud your netspeak. cheers A little corruption is a good thing. ^-^
Okay, so you want what, exactly? I'm willing to write anything, but I have to warn you that there is a ninety-nine percent chance that it will not end happily. smirks
Pansexual? Really? snickerfits madly Verra nice. Heh.
Here's my contact information. My email is sarahtanksley@gmail.com - and do you have GTalk? Or Skype? Because IM is so much easier when it comes to soundboarding.Your Zen Is False

Well that's just grand! I will have to go read that now. I can hear myself chuckling already.
Oh so we are on the same scribbled-all-over page! Splendid. We should get along just dandy, then. Right as rain. Perhaps acid rain would be more fitting. Just a /tad/? Mhm, mhm, that's what they all say. grins
Aha, how apt of a reference to it as a black hole. You could not be more spot on, though. And leopards like their spots. I like to think that I have a healthy balance between Anime and everything else. Mostly, it is just Manga now. Midnight Symphony, to be exact. It's beautiful, blood and gore in black and white. And I love the Anime 'Blood'. That is pretty much where it ends nowadays, though.
Hm. Well, perhaps I will have to really begin reading them then. Do you think that someone with no real prior Naruto experience would be able to 'get it'? Then again, if it is one of your stories, I might enjoy it regardless.
Why, thank you, thank you! Bows, does a little flourish with the hand, curtsies Just a little? Pah! It's a whole lot or nothing.
Hm hm hm! Well, as I said, my favourite characters are Bellatrix, Nymphadora, Luna. Dear, does it SEEM like I want a 'happy' story. I loathe happy stories.
I pretty much see artistic license as being one of the most valuable things to an artist of any sort, so you are free to write whatever you would like, my basic guidelines of interest being in those three.
And, to countre, what would you yourself like? Though, I have to warn you, doubly, that there is a thousand percent chance that nothing I ever write ends happily. smirks back
You have quite an attraction to this snickerfitting, you do!
Yes, I fancy all sorts.
And contrary to for-some-reason popular belief, no, I am not attracted to cookware.
Although...I've got to say, Black and Decker products do something dangerous to me.
I once helped a friend convince her younger brother that there was a such thing as trisexuality, and it involved men, women, and washing machines. Apparently, our words of wisdom unlocked something deep in the poor child. To this day, he can't walk by a Best Buy without salivating voraciously over the Maytags.
Sarah. You have a very nice name. Which reminds me, how very rude of me not to introduce myself. My name is Silas, and let me do profess that it is my absolute pleasure to make your e-acquaintance.
I just downloaded this blasted GTalk, because Skype, for some reason, does something horrible to my computer, and it will not let me sign into it. It is asking me for a username, though it does not give me anywhere to go to get one. Hm hm hm! How I do dislike all things electronic. How I do.
Well, I DO have AIM and MSN, and all other sorts of things, but they are all text based chat services.
In case you do have those, my AIM is Bicycle Sighs, and my MSN is bicyclesighs@hotmail.com
I am very diverse in my internet handle names, I know, I know.
Regardless, I will send an E Mail down on your way.

Hm... thinks Well, I think that all you need to know is that Kakashi is a genius. He made the ninja ranks at five and was promoted at six. His mother is never mentioned, really - we don't know what happened to her - and his father committed seppuku when Kakashi was eight after fucking up a mission to save his friends and therefore starting a war with the shinobi nation of Iwa, or Rock. This makes Kakashi go all RULES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER AND EMOTIONS ARE FOR THE WEAK. He's an adult in the actual series, but this is based in the Gaiden before the series started. His jounin sensei is the future leader of the Leaf shinobi nation, Namikaze Minato aka the Yellow Flash. His two teammates are Rin and Obito, but they're not really important.
...Oh, it's a slash story. Yaoi, though not romance at all. I don't know if you're okay with that. If not, it's cool. ^-^ It's rather dark, as well. Twisted. grins happily
I don't think I actually needed to tell you all of that backstory - it ought to be clear enough - but that'll probably make it easier.
Happy stories...it takes a lot to pull it off. They have no real substance, just melodrama. Ick.
What would I like...hm. I would like - Hermione. I would like for you to destroy her. ^-^ Yes, that sounds delicious. grins wickedly
Snickerfitting is fun. What else can I say? Addictive, really.
snickerfits madly Maytag? Really? moves on to cackling artfully That's - absolutely hilarious. XD
Silas. Beautiful name, dear. bows The pleasure is all mine.
I do not, actually, have AIM or MSN. I dislike them. I have GTalk only because I have a Gmail account, actually. I mostly use the net to read and write - I only recently began chatting with e-friends.
Email away. ^-^ And hooray for corruption! Gotta love that netspeak. smirks
Silasluv -
Gah. So I need a teensy-weensy favor. I'm in the middle of a massive fic that I haven't posted yet - but that's not the point. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind reading it over and telling me what you think. It's a Naruto fanfic - I know you're not really familiar with that fandom, but I don't want to ruin the surprise for my Naruto people.
Anyway, I'd really appreciate an outside opinion. Please?
