“You don’t like her…do you? That Lacey Buchanan girl person…” Cassie stated matter-of-factly.
“Who would?!...She’s a total bitch.” Geri stated on behalf of Aurora.
Aurora sat with her close MVP friends---Cassie, Geri, Melanie, Susie and Tanya.
“Just because she’s popular, everyone else conforms to her and wants to be like her.” Aurora said.
Everyone sighed.
“I don’t get it…what does your brother sees in her?” Tanya questioned.
“How could I know? I’m not my brother, and I don’t friggin’ care if they ended up married…” Aurora responded.
“Why wouldn’t you care?” Melanie asked.
“Because most likely I will not be in NJ when they probably will be staying here. I will probably in New York or Cali.” Aurora replied.
“But you need to say something to him about it…about her attitude and personality to us and many other people.” Susie stated.
“I know…but he’s too in love with her…Plus…I don’t control my brother, I will let him make up his own mind.” Aurora said.
“Right…” Cassie trailed off.
“Come on…anyone want to go to the vending machine in the canteen?” Geri offered.
“Yeah…come on…let go.” Tanya agreed.
They all walked along the corridor to the canteen when they passed the Biology lab and they heard voices and…moaning…and grunting…?!
“What the fu…?” Geri muttered.
“Sush…” Cassie whispered harshly.
They crept around, and looked into the lab door through the glass, they could see a girl and a boy making out…and they all gasped when they all realized the girl is Lacey Buchanan…while the other boy is not Aurora’s older brother, but someone else…Jake Manok, another high school male jock. They crouched down, so the insiders cannot see them, and pressed their ears to the door to eavesdrop. They could hear clearly what’s going on in there.
“Wait…wait…wait! Hold on! I can’t do this.” Jake rejected, pushing Lacey away.
Lacey stared at Jake like he’s crazy.
“Why not? What’s wrong with you, Jake?” Lacey asked.
“There’s nothing wrong with me. You have a boyfriend and plus…I don’t feel that way about you.” Jake replied.
“Oh…Gerard?! Him?! It’s not that big-a-deal. We are not serious.” Lacey stated.
At that, Aurora felt her heart race…how can Lacey say that?
“But Gerard is an absolute sweet guy, he loves you. How can you say that?” Jake interjected.
Lacey laughed.
“Because I don’t love him like that. He doesn’t even know me that well…” Lacey replied casually.
“So why are you with him? Oh…you are just using him, aren’t you?” Jake said in understanding.
“You can say that…” Lacey said.
“Oh yeah…of course…With him, you gain popularity…what you’ve always wanted.” Jake stated.
“And…he’s also rich.” Lacey stated, without any shame or regret.
Jake shook his head.
“You are so not worth it! He should dump you…” Jake said shortly, and headed for the door.
Aurora and her fellow friends crept away from the door quietly and quickly, and walked quickly to the canteen. They breathed a sigh of relief once they are in the canteen.
“What are we going to do?” Geri asked.
“You’ve got to tell Gerard!” Tanya urged.
A few more days passed, Aurora still hadn’t said anything about what she and her friends had witnessed outside the Biology lab. They had all kept their mouths shut as they know nobody would listen to them.
Now…the day had come for Gerard’s birthday, turning 18…great for him…He’s having a big wild party at the house tonight, and of course he invited the whole crew of the popular clan, and of course…including his pretentious girlfriend---Lacey. In the morning, once Gerard woke up and had breakfast, Aurora gave him his first birthday present of the day, which is a black belt with a bat buckle, which he incredibly loves.
“Well, I’m glad you like it…bro.” Aurora stated.
“Like?!...I absolutely love it! Thank you so much, sis…” Gerard stated, grinning.
“You are very welcome…Gee-dawg.” Aurora said.
“Hey…you are joining me for the party, aren’t you?” Gerard asked hopefully.
“Yeah…”
She walked upstairs back to her room, she had never thought of joining the party, she doesn’t want to…In fact, she and her friends had already planned to have a sleepover at Cassie’s place who live on the next street. She doesn’t want to stay with her brothers’ friends getting all fucked up a few feet away.
At around 5:30pm, friends started coming, drinking, eating, and with rock music playing loud, Aurora had her rucksack packed in her room. She went downstairs and hangs around for a bit, she was enjoying it until Lacey turned up.
“Oh…great…” Aurora thought to herself sarcastically.
“Hey…Baby Gee!” Lacey called sweetly.
Gerard walked over to her, hugged her and kissed her like a little darling. Lacey then gave him his birthday present, which is a stationary set (including art pads) featuring Iron Maiden, which Gerard undoubtedly absolutely adored.
“You are the best ever!” Gerard stated.
“You are very welcome…honey.” Lacey stated.
They started kissing again, while Aurora grimaced at that, throughout the night, she didn’t have much fun, she was left all by herself in a corner. Occasionally there will be a few friendly ‘Hello’s and ‘Are you enjoying the party?’, and she always ended up lying her ass off.
“So are you enjoying the party?” Frank asked.
She nodded.
“Yep…” she lied.
“Good, good…Keep enjoying it.” Frank stated, and walked off.
She sighed to herself. She might as well go over to Cassie’s place right now. She went up to her room, scribbles down a note, grabbed her stuff, and went back downstairs to the lounge. Her…with a rucksack on her back caused people to stare but she didn’t care, she just walked out of the front door and left. She’s too damned upset and angry to stay there inside the house, she knows she would feel like killing herself if she stayed there for longer.
