"Yo can call me that if you wish, but my friends usually call me Brendon."
"Ha ha, smartass." Evelyn, swung her legs over the couch and pulled herself into a sitting position.
Her head was spinning, but not from the head injury.
"Are you okay, do you need to see a doctor?" Brendon asked again. Evelyn grinned and glanced up at him.
"Damn straight, my heart's going bonkers!" He ignored the reference.
"No I mean about your head." Brendon tried to hide the smile that moved his lips.
"Nah, it'll be okay. Thanks."
Brendon shrugged and turned to his bandmates, who sat observing the quiet conversation.
"It's okay, Spencer, you didn't seriously hurt her." He grinned.
"Oh, good. That could of been messy."
"What a gentleman," Evelyn muttered, though it was obvious they were kidding around.
"So what's your name?" Ryan asked.
"Evelyn."
"Cool," they all muttered in unison. They then laughed.
"I was starting to think you guys had forgotten about the meet and greet or something."
The guys all looked at each other.
"What meet and greet?" Brendon studied Evelyn for a moment.
"I had some security guard come up to me and say I won a meet and greet with you guys."
The guys remained silent. They gazed at one another in confusion.
"I think he was fooling you, Evelyn. We never agreed to any meet and greets," Brendon said slowly.
"But then.. it makes no sense! The photo, the waiting til everyone was gone..." Evelyn's mind raced. "Why would he do that?"
All the guys shrugged.
"No idea. You can hang with us for a while though. No screaming at us though, okay?" Jon grinned.
"I couldn't scream if I wanted to," Evelyn replied truthfully.
They hung out backstage in the joined dressing rooms for a while as Evelyn recovered from her accident. The topics of conversation were random at best, and changed with no warning whatsoever, making it very hard for Evelyn to keep up.
Her head ached all the more.
