I stumble back from the threshold, feeling my hip collide with one of Geoff's plants and I try and regain my composure, "Wh-why are you here?" I manage to gasp out, hell bent on getting back into the kitchen.
The officer pulls down his glasses and fishes a ream of papers from his pocket, thrusting them into my chest, "It's a search warrant for a Gerard Way. He's listed as a resident here."
"What did Gee do?! He's been locked in his room for the past month!" I scream, dropping the pink and yellow papers to the floor.
He glares at me, and the other people with him advance on the door, "Look, we don't want to have to arrest more people than we have to. Where is he?"
I sigh heavily, "Puking in the bathroom. Want me to get him for you?"
I watch as he fingers the holster of his gun, his brow furrowing heavily, "You're about 5 seconds away from being bent over the hood of my car, punk." he snarls, pushing his huge, hideous sunglasses back over his square face.
"Just tell me why you're here and I'll get Gee." I bargain, hoping to buy just a bit more time.
The officer pulls yet another sheet of paper from his pocket, and droned on like a robot, "Gerard Way is being placed under arrest under the following charges: kidnapping, false testimony and emotional grievances."
My fists tighten involuntarily, and I hold back my screams of rage with a cool breath, "Who placed the charges?"
He shuffles the papers, a look of annoyance crossing his already reddened face, "Ah... a Frank Iero. He's Gerard's ex-boyf-"
I cut him off with a shriek, grabbing the papers from his hands and throwing them to the ground, "Get out of my house! Get off my lawn! And throw that bastard Frank into jail!"
Within an instant, about 10 guns are pointing at my face, but I just keep panting and seething pure fury, "Do you even know why they broke up?" I spit, about ready to sock someone (preferably that ass) in the face.
"They wasn't mentioned. Now, can you tell us where Gerard is so we don't have to charge you with harboring a felon."
"I don't care what you arrest me for," I growl, "He's innocent and I'm definitely not letting him go with you."
I feel a hand on my shoulder, putting pressure near the base of my neck. I turn to see Geoff standing there, eyes narrowed and cold with hatred, "Go away. All of you. You've got the wrong man."
I can tell the police are getting impatient and testy, "One week. In one week I will have a search warrant from the state, and we will find Gerard."
I huff deeply, "You won't."
He just smirks and tips his hat, "Have a nice day sirs."
As he turns to leave, one of the younger officers fires his gun into the tires of the car, cackling madly as he does so. Geoff's face collapses and he starts yelling curses and threats at the squad cars as the roar down the poorly paved road. I try to block out Geoff's rants as I tiptoe into the kitchen. Gee is curled up in a ball by the stove, crying madly, "I'm s-s-so sorry-y."
I shake my head and crouch in front of him, "It's okay Gee. They're a bunch of bastards. Trying to arrest you for leaving Frank."
This just sends him in a fit of wails, and he clasps his arms over his stomach, "He's just trying to frame me!"
I sigh and flop onto the floor, my ankles straining under the weight. My hand travels up to his hair, and I pet it softly, whispering, "You're safe here."
He shakes his head, furiously trying to dry his cheeks, "After the rape trial, he's been trying to find me and kill me. And now that he knows I'm pregnant..."
He went quiet, eyes welling up again. I blink softly, "Why wasn't he arrested after the trial?"
Gee just sighs deeply, holding back another onslaught of tears, "They claimed I didn't have 'substantial evidence'. I didn't go to the hospital soon enough and even then, we were partners, it wouldn't have mattered in their eyes."
I pull him into my chest, "It's gonna all be okay Gee. You'll see."
He just lets out a tiny, bitter sob, "He's going to kill my baby."

The week was hectic and long, the three of us working full time to get the house up to snuff for when the search warrant came through. After some debate, and tears, from Geoff, we'd managed to get rid of anything that would pose a threat. No condoms, not pot, no beer, nothing. All we had left was half a pack of cigarettes on the kitchen counter and some hemp lotion by the sink. Gee spent most of his time in his room, crying and calling his family, trying to find a place to stay.
It was about 8 when the police showed up, banging loudly on the door and waking everyone from their fitful slumbers. I pulled on a shirt, but didn't bother to cover my boxers. I could give two shits about what the police see. It's my house, afterall. I poke my head into Gee's room, sitting down by the bed, "Get dressed okay? And try not to cry when they come inside."
He lifts his head from the pillow, rubbing at the tender, red patches on his cheeks where he'd slept on them. He blinks wearily and looks up at me, knotted hair falling over his pale face as he yawns. I wince as they bang on the door again, and start yelling my name. Gee flinches at the noise and subconsciously hugs his middle, "What if Frank is with them?"
"Geoff will take care of Frank, don't you worry." I console, patting his shoulder awkwardly.
The door bangs again.
"I need to answer that..."
I wander downstairs, collecting my composure before slowly opening the door, coming face to face with a skinny blonde woman. Her face is sharp and narrow, and she had about 8 badges slapped across her breasts, including a huge bronze one that read "State Trooper."
Fucking cock in the ass, we're screwed.
"Are you Bert?" she asks rather coolly, eyes scanning a small scrap of paper in her gloved hand.
"Yes ma'am." I quip, folding my hands neatly behind my back.
She steps inside, motioning to the others to follow her. I watch as a group of about 10 other officers and detecives start roaming the house, snapping pictures and overturning furniture as they go. the trooper starts jotting things down on her clipboard, "Is Gerard here?"
I point to the stairwell, "Up in his room, but I think he's still sleeping. The baby's made him sick."
I'm telling the truth for the most part. His morning sickness has been keeping him bedridden for the better part of the day. She and another man, who's holding a cocked and loaded gun close to his hip, kick in the door, "Gerard Way, you're under arrest."
I race up after them, stumbling over Geoff's shoes and falling at their feet, "He's innocent!"
She just pushes me aside with her heel and starts to read off his rights, while the burly officer with her pins Gee to the ground and clasps th cuffs around his wrists. I scream and scramble in bewteen her feet, trying to pull Gee away from them. "Stop!" he screams, aiming his gun towards me.
Gee lets out an anguished cry and struggles against him, "M-my arm! you're hurting my arm!" he shrieks, voice cracking with pain.
The trooper sighs, "Drop him, John."
The officer sighs deeply, his fat face drooping as his little 'toy' to the ground. I seeth at the two of them, "He's innocent. He was raped by Frank, and now he's pregnant. But that man does not deserve his child." I argue, bending down to help Gee to his feet.
"You know, Bert, you really shouldn't talk shit about people behind their backs." a cold voice chides.
I look up at the doorway, rage boiling over as Frank just smirks.
