Chapter 27- Putting on a show
Once I had let David stop sobbing I manipulated his emotions again but this time turning him angry. He growled and jumped up from the seat running at me. Evander went to stop him but I instead used a force field to stop him in his tracks. David ran straight into it and was thrown back. This was a trick I picked up after travelling around Europe for a decade alone. I formed a force field around him and waited for him to calm down.
“This is so fun” Raven says
“Where’s Drake?” I ask
Raven stops for a moment thinking her eyes look like they are no longer looking at something in this room. This is her being able to explore everything around her without leaving her spot, I still haven’t mastered this trick. I should ask her to teach me.
“He is up in the library reading,” She paused squinting “A very old book the title is too worn for me to see.”
Her eyes refocus on the room. She turns to me smiling. Evander is puzzled but doesn’t ask. I just thought of another trick I wanted to try, time manipulation. I focus and eventually I get time to slow slightly. It is extremely draining but possible. I lose focus and everything return to normal.
“Damn it” I exclaim.
“What?” Evander asks
“You probably didn’t notice but I just slowed time.” I reply
“Wow” Evander and David both say
“I thought you had deemed that out of you capability” Raven says
“I just proved myself wrong” I say
“True” Raven agrees
David is sitting there staring at me like a moron and Evander is starring at me so cutely.
“Does Drake know just how good you’ve gotten at this?” Raven asks
“No no one but you have seen what I can do well except one stupid werewolf that thought he could win against me” I reply
“He has got to see just how far you have come with your powers.” Raven says
I’m about to object but she is already out of the basement and probably with Drake now. David clears his throat, I look over at him and realise I left him in the force field. Ha ha David
“Yes?” I ask pretending not to realise.
David just frowns at me waiting.
“Can I help you with something?” I ask
“Could you please release me?” He asks calmly
“Fine” I grumble releasing him.
Raven is suddenly standing next to me with Drake.
“I heard you’re doing amazingly well” Drake says
“Indeed” I say walking over to the small room again.
I would be stronger during the night. I showed my powers to Drake and he was amazed at my ability.
“That’s amazing” Drake breathed as I stepped out of the room after the show.
“What time is it?” David asked
“Nearly time for you to be gone” Raven hissed at him.
“Yes!” He cheered
I’m getting really thirsty, tonight I’ll go out and hunt.
