Chapter 10 - R o o m f u l o f S i l v e r f i s h

---Amy's POV---

I served out another lemonade and smacked my head down on the counter. What did i do to earn this job?! I mean, i love lemonade, but serving it as a part time job? No way. I'd do better at Starbucks.

"Ames, I need two blended lemonades" I heard a voice speak. I looked up and saw China smiling at me, Tegan had her head smacked down on the table. I got up and started to mix around ingredients.

"What's the occasion?" I asked curiously.

"Tegan lost her job again" She announced simply.

"You serious?" I groaned. China nodded and shrugged her shoulders.

"The clones are just too much to handle," China explained,"I don't even work there and I had a hard time."

I let out a sigh as I handed her the cups. Seems like it wasn't just another day at the mall. Suddenly, I noticed Nadia and Bridget walk off the escalator. They came up to me and ordered two Mango Lemon Juicers. We all ended up sitting down at the table and chattering about work life.

---Nadia's POV---

"And then they were bragging about how they were going to spend time with creeper dude" Tegan explained.

"They're such pains it's not even funny" China commented. We all let out a sigh and everyone fell silent. Today just wasn't our day. China let out a pouty groan and put her head down on the table.

"I wanna see BMTH" She whined.

"No!" We all said in unison. China perked up a little.

"Why not? It's okay with everyone else!"

"China, on the list of things that are not ok, this is REALLY not ok!" Bridget spoke.

"Well...well...augh! This isn't fair!" She mumbled. Tegan set down her drink and got out her map of the mall.

"Okay guys, i need help, I've got to find a job within the next 24 hours otherwise i'm toast!"

We all hovered over the map and began to point out stores.

"How about you work at...Wonder Taco?" I suggested.

"Hell no! They serve meat!" Tegan objected.

"Well why not Burger McFlipster's?" China asked.

"Again, MEAT! I'm a vegetarian!" She acknowledged.

"Why can't you bear just working at the registers?" I asked, "It's not like you're cooking the meat. And besides, they're already dead."

"Don't kid yourself, Nini," Tegan spoke,"If a cow ever got the chance, he'd eat you and everyone you care about!"

I let out a laugh and shook my head at her. She was so random sometimes, I have no idea how we ended up friends.

---- Bridget's POV ---

"Okay, Vegan Island, do we all agree?" I spoke out. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement, and Tegan went off to grab an application. I let out a sigh as I looked at my watch. My shift was coming to an end soon.

"Well," I began,"I'd better get back and make a little more money before I hit home."

They all waved goodbye to me as I headed up the escalator. I walked into the Antique Store and put on my 40's cap and apron. I helped out a few regulars, and met some newcomers. It was a regular work day. Well, it was almost regular. I was putting away some old pocket watches when i noticed a group of guys walk in. They were looking around curiously at the catholic rosarys until Myra came up to them. Myra was the manager, she was really cool. The five boys all began to chatter and talk with Myra as i got down from the little latter. I walked over curiously and put on a smile as I approached them. My smile briefly faded though. I immediately noticed the sleeve tattoos and the scene-ish hair cut. Creeper Dude was BACK! He gave me a small smile.

"Hello, welcome to Tiffany's," I greeted,"Is there anything i can help you with?"

"I'm looking for a special present, for a girlfriend of mine" He answered. for some odd reason, I tensed up when he said the word, "girlfriend". For his sake, he'd better not be thinking of China.

"Well," I began,"If your looking for something meaningful, we've got antique jewelry over here."

I led them over to the glass case full of beautiful antique jewelry. I walked behind the case and pulled out a beautiful Royal Blue velvet case. Oli and his friends stared at it curiously. I opened it and revealed a beautiful rustic gold colored locket. I watched as a small smile spread across his face.

"This is beau'iftul" He spoke in his thick accent. I let him hold the case and observe it's gorgeous features. A small crown was lightly imprinted on the locket's front. On the back was an impint of a clock that read 4:00, which was Afternoon Tea time in europe. It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland personally. He closed the velvet box and looked up at me.

"I'll take it." He spoke happily. I guided them over to the cash register and he paid for the item by card. Oliver Scott Sykes, Sheffield, UK. I looked up at him and handed him the bag. He smiled once more and then his eyes went slightly wide.

"Now i remember!" He spoke out,"You're China's little friend."

Oh God. He remembered! My whole entire body tensed up and I stared at him with slightly wide eyes. I gave him a big smile as he leaned on the counter and stared at me. Oh god, he was planning on talking to me!

"How is she?" He asked curiously.

"Fine" I strained to say. He gave a little laugh.

"Ya little nervous, huh?" He asked. I quickly shook my head, i was more shocked than i was nervous.

"Well tell her I said hi, and that I expect to see her backstage at the conc-"

"She's not going" I spoke out quickly. His friends exchanged glances as he continued to stare at me.

"What?"

"She's um...going with me to ethel's that day..and we're...um, she's not going" I watched as his eyes bore into mine a little deeper than they did before. It was like he was trying to dig up my soul or something.

"I see..." He spoke quietly,"Well then, tell her that i hope to see her here at the mall sometime before we leave"

"No." I said plainly.
